Yes, I am looking forward to the elections as well, the libs have certainly given a lot of statements that the Rep. opponents can use in their campaigning to their advantage!

Exactly. He was just putting on some kind of act. He had no intention of ever voting for him.

Don't you love how Schumer proceeded to "lecture" Alito about his answers...and his disappointment, and how troubled Alito has made him...

BLECH...no, that is a DOUBLE BLECH!

I don't think it was just Specter defending the Chair. Kennedy implied Specter was lying about receiving the communication. After Arlen pointed out that there was a difference between sending and receiving, he then said he would review the matter. Kennedy then threatened to demand votes and tie up the Committee -- which then caused an already irate Arlen to smack him down HARD.

Loved how he pounded the gavel and then turned his back on Kennedy. Priceless.

Well, that's true. They've shown repeatedly that they are the bigoted, racist, sexist, discrimatory ones loud and clear.

I wish Kennedy would run for POTUS so that we could all see just how mainstream he is.

Chuck just said that a jurist who tends to rule "rightward" is unqualified to be a judge.

Libs love a Justice who's ready for approval by Dick, Chuck and Teddy.
Pat, Joe and Dianne like to preheat the pan, to fry nominees deemed "right-heady."

I found that phrase odd also...

Kinda makes me think that anyone that has "FATE" deal them a bad hand, SHOULD be entitled to FED. help...

LOL ... $10 bucks to FR says they will delay and stoop even lower and call names

Stoop lower and call names? No doubt! And they'll delay as the rules permit, if they think it gets them $$ or political points. The GOP seems more than willing to beat up on the DEMs over Alito, so if they want to extend the beatings, by all means, go for it ;)

As my track record shows, my gut feel is emminently UNreliable, so a betting person could reasonably take my gut feel of "no delay" and bet the other way. I can't say it's a bad strategy.

You've hit on the very reason I'm against term limits. It gives more power to the staff and behind-the-scenes people who we often don't know and don't elect. I'd rather have the power remain in the hands of the people we can re-elect or not every few years.
