Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito told reporters today that despite Sen. Charles Schumers hostile questioning in yesterdays Senate Judiciary Committee hearings, the federal appeals court judge would keep an open mind about the New York lawmaker.
The remark reflected the same approach that Judge Alito told the committee he would take toward any abortion cases that might come before him as a Supreme Court justice.
Despite the precedent of Sen. Schumers disparaging questions yesterday, and his implication that my testimony is dishonest, Judge Alito said, I will treat him as if the slate is clean and evaluate his performance today on its merits.
The judge declined an invitation to characterize the senators long history of hostile questioning to Republican nominees as super-precedent or super-duper precedent.
Any sort of categorization like that with regard to Sen. Schumer reminds me of the size of the disposable diapers in the supermarket, Judge Alito said.
I know this is satire, but really hits the point. Too many New Yorkers think the world revolves around them.
LOL! Mr. Ott, if you're reading this, the largest package of diapers at Wal-mart is "Super-Mega"! (That's based on the number in the package, not the size of the diapers :-).
Charles Schumer,RINO of the year...
Don't think it has anything to do with New York, he said, having been born in Brooklyn...
Alito ain't no little dude. What's he go, maybe 6'2, 225lb?
Somehow I get the feeling that Sam is thinking to himself, "Schumer, if I wanted any $h!t out of you, I'd just squeez you head".
Ott took it from there... ;-)
FYI.enjoy...
Merits? What merits?
Um, I believe Brooklyn is one of the boros of New York City, but I could be wrong.
Unfortunately NY politics is controlled by NY City liberals and socialists. The majority of the suburbs and upstate lean Republican. The problem with the Republicans is that they have fumbled and have been in disaray thanks to the likes of D'Amato & Pataki who have bent over backwards for the left.

Yes...the he was me! So I don't believe that New Yorkers think the world revolves about them...are Biden, Kennedy, Leahy, Durbin, etc., New Yorkers? My point is that one doesn't have to be from NY to think that the world revolves around them...
The judge is not required to have an open mind regarding Schumer. However, a large open hole and adequate backfill might be in order.
Doesn't a RINO require an R for his party affiliation?
You are right...Schumer is a dirty democrat with a big mouth..I was thinking of Arlin Specter when I read the article..the democrats mouth piece..
Funny - thanks for the additional information.
That's exactly what yesterday's hearing reminded me of. These people aren't fit nor educated enought to take out Alito's garbage.
Thanks for the clarification - I thought my memory was going (but couldn't remember why). ;-P
Two staffers from Schumers senate office were involved in the illegal and criminal offense of getting Lt.Gov Steele of Marylands credit report. Privacy issues only relate to
certain people but not to minority republicans running for a US Senate seat. Before any Democrat in DC begins the privacy issue questions I would like an answer on the DNC getting into private files ( FBI) and credit reports of candiates. How about it Chuckie? How about an update on your little Democrat Mafia duo?
