Six female employees have filed a $1.4 billion class-action sex-bias lawsuit against an investment bank, claiming they were hired as "eye candy.
According to the suit filed in Manhattan, one attractive female employee at the German bank Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein Securities LLC was openly called "the Pamela Anderson of trading by her boss.
The six women five of whom work in New York and one in London also allege that executives brought prostitutes to the office for lunch.
Plaintiff Jyoti Ruta claims she was once pressured by a boss and a colleague to leave a dinner celebrating a deal so that male employees could go to a strip club, the New York Post reports.

But apparently they want $200 million apiece not for trading, or for their looks, but for their sass. Anybody miss the elephant? Since when to highly paid investment bankers whine about jobs that pay them millions for doing arithmetic with a calculator?

I just found it funny. Not sure what their damages were but I really don't think they should be complaining. Now if the other less attractive women didn't get jobs, maybe they would have a case.

So now this girl has been trained to apply for a job, then file a suit and make a nice living when the business capitulates. Great.

OK, this is NOT a place I would want to work.
But, instead of sueing, just call all the wives and girlfriends and let them know when to show up for a special 'surprise'.

Looks like the airheads messed up. The UGLY ones are supposed to sue for not being hired. Oh how easily they are confused...
Honey, dearest wife of mine, if you ever read this, know that I am just kidding :)

That'll do.
Now, someone needs to put these extortionists in it and drive it off a cliff.

In the 80's, one of the companies I dealt with in Denver was a smallish (40 or so employees) oil company. The CEO was a guy in his 40's, despite it being a male-dominated industry, EVERY other employee of the company (including the geologists, managers, engineers, programmers, etc.) was a hot woman, minimum "7" on the "1-10" scale...
They were good at their jobs, the company was doing well, and needless to say, I enjoyed having to drop in and do business there.

I can't for the life of me understand this. Why not go to trial, win, and then counter sue the plaintiff for all costs? If this was done, then all the nonsense would stop.
I know if it happens to me, I am proved not culpable, I am on my lawsuit to recoup damages and costs asap..

I wonder if fashion models could also file a suit. "They only hired me for my looks". Perhaps an engineer could also file a suit "they only hired me for my brains" or a a lawyer "they only hired me for my uncanny ability to lie".
Why discriminate on the basis of looks - we can discriminate on every marketable quality.

You're right. These girls would sue if they *weren't* hired because of their looks.

Seems I remember reading or hearing not too long ago that "pretty" people (men and women) make more money than those that are, well, not as pretty. I guess it must be true - life just isn't fair! But now instead of just complaining about it, we can sue!
