ALITO CONFIRMATION HEARINGS
Questioning Begins Today
Each of the eighteen senators on the Judiciary Cmte. will have 30 minutes to question Supreme Court nominee Samual Alito today during round one. Sen. Arlen Specter, as chairman, will begin, then they will alternate by party in order of individual seniority. Round two starts on Wednesday.
Oh, man - did you just hear his answer to why he joined CAP? Because Princeton threw the military off the campus and Alito was in the ROTC and thought that was wrong; that the military shouldn't be punished for Vietnam. Now Leaky is trying to spin it as some horrible society. And Alito is saying he wasn't aware that it was a horrible society and it wasn't part of his thinking that it was. He's smooth.

Hatch is always good in these hearings, he takes democrat innuendo and smacks them in the face with it. Which they deserve BTW.

Leahy's questions on the NSA thing were slanted, but fair game - his questioning on the 10 year old strip search was out of line.
