Each of the eighteen senators on the Judiciary Cmte. will have 30 minutes to question Supreme Court nominee Samual Alito today during round one. Sen. Arlen Specter, as chairman, will begin, then they will alternate by party in order of individual seniority. Round two starts on Wednesday.

Charles Schumer is the only Senator so flatulent in speech and thought and so puerile in intent that he was instantly rendered a junior senator by having a Clinton elected to serve in tandem with him.

So far Alito has left a very good impression.

No nominee of either party should be forced to go through such a disgusting, insulting gauntlet. I'm sure Judge Alito will keep his cool, although that in no way excuses the senators' behavior.
