The Patriots Guild-What do you love about freedom?
anyone who shows up...

Patriots Guild
No one knows what the outcome of World War II would have been if more than 18 million women hadn't worked in home-front defense industries to free men for overseas battlefields and to keep the nation running, and no one can say what would happen in this war on terror, if it were not for the countless Contractors, who put their lives on the line to re-build Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as the millions of civilians who support the war effort from home.
***
I would like to introduce you to the Patriots Guild- a place where like minded can meet to share information about their pursuits in supporting the war effort. We are mindful that there are many people to thank, and to keep in our thoughts and prayers- our allies, contractors, Merchant Marines, troops, veterans and their families all need to feel loved. This is a huge effort, isn't it?
So stop by with a joke, a recipe, a song ,or a plan- and lets figure out a way to get our message out to the world.... WE LOVE OUR FREEDOM!
***
SO without further ado- I offer this ice breaker...... what is your favorite thing about having freedom? (keep it family friendly please!) I enjoy fresh coffee from Dunkin Donuts, myself... I just drive downtown and BINGO- Freedom...... I wonder if DD ever considered shipping coffee to our good guys in Iraq and Afghanistan. I think I will call them and ask.... How about you, what do you love about your freedom?***

I really enjoyed that thread, too!! It made me smile for days and it inspired me to go digging for some of mom's old receipts ~ which will keep my family smiling for months (years) to come!!.

Have you actually gone to see the rock, Tenn2005? I had not seen this before and it is truly marvelous what an artist has done with a rock. Thank you for forwarding this.
It is so inspirational, everyone please take the time to look at the link in post #128. What a great tribute to our country and our troops this very young man has created. The accompanying story is short and fascinating.
SandRat, this made me think of the scriptures you posted this morning about the "house upon the rock!"

That is so imaginative. It stays in your mind because it's so unique. How do people think these things up, then make them? Beats me.
So, did you ever go to see the patriotic art rock? I like it that he changes it every year.

No, I have not had the privilege to see it. Hoping to some day.

A profound question. So much of life is just accepted rather then thought about. I suppose I value freedom so highly because freedom brings hope, tyranny destroys it.
