The Patriots Guild-What do you love about freedom?
anyone who shows up...

Patriots Guild
No one knows what the outcome of World War II would have been if more than 18 million women hadn't worked in home-front defense industries to free men for overseas battlefields and to keep the nation running, and no one can say what would happen in this war on terror, if it were not for the countless Contractors, who put their lives on the line to re-build Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as the millions of civilians who support the war effort from home.
***
I would like to introduce you to the Patriots Guild- a place where like minded can meet to share information about their pursuits in supporting the war effort. We are mindful that there are many people to thank, and to keep in our thoughts and prayers- our allies, contractors, Merchant Marines, troops, veterans and their families all need to feel loved. This is a huge effort, isn't it?
So stop by with a joke, a recipe, a song ,or a plan- and lets figure out a way to get our message out to the world.... WE LOVE OUR FREEDOM!
***
SO without further ado- I offer this ice breaker...... what is your favorite thing about having freedom? (keep it family friendly please!) I enjoy fresh coffee from Dunkin Donuts, myself... I just drive downtown and BINGO- Freedom...... I wonder if DD ever considered shipping coffee to our good guys in Iraq and Afghanistan. I think I will call them and ask.... How about you, what do you love about your freedom?***

The inspiration for this thread comes from knowing there are many Americans , some civilians, who are making sacrafices and working hard for freedom, and may not hear a THANK YOU. IMO~ America is full of heroes and we as many of them to step up as we can get.

I LOVE the thought that I can say: "Hillary Clinton is a good-for-nothing Socialist Bag of Semi-Human Execrement" and not worry that the Gestapo is going to show up in the middle of the night and haul me off.
Uh oh! She ISN'T already president , yet????
Uh.....forget that I posted this, okay?

My son brought his new wife home for our first visit this weekend. I think he fell in love with the right woman. We'll be going to their place next weekend. We'll get to spend a little more time with them, and have a tour of his boat before it goes into dry dock. 2006 is starting out good.

My favorite thing about being free is the ability to do, say and become anything I want, because we all have the freedom to choose.
Thanks to our military, and our Founding Fathers, this is the best place in the world.

Two hundred, twenty-nine years ago a group of men came together at a particular time and in a particular place; men who would change the course of human history. They would establish a nation, the likes of which had never before been known on the earth, or imagined in the minds of men. It would be a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. It would preserve and promote freedom and liberty through a system of equal justice under law which would provide every person equal treatment. Furthermore, it would place the ultimate power, not in the government, but in the hands of the people.
We call these men our founding fathers and the nation they founded the United States of America. They have been described as "enlightened geniuses touched by divine intervention." I cannot imagine a better description, and I am convinced that only God could have brought together such men, at such a time, in such a place, and with such a purpose. The purpose was God's, and the men were His instruments for accomplishing it.
Yes, the world calls it the United States of America, but by the grace of God, we call it home.

Thanks for the nice thread.
As Thomas Jefferson said: By a declaration of rights, I mean one which shall stipulate freedom of religion, freedom of the press, freedom of commerce against monopolies, trial by juries in all cases, no suspensions of the habeas corpus, no standing armies. These are fetters against doing evil which no honest government should decline.
