The DeRosas have no formal training but have studied dinosaurs and fossils for more than a decade.

The De Rosas are wrong. Orlando is about 100 years old. Radio-carbon data has shown St. Augustine to be somewhat older. Since DeRosa is now 22, and he began a decade ago, that means he started at age 12.

All of the above allegations are supported by scripture.

Which scripture is the correct scripture? The Jewish one, the Christian one or maybe the Muslim one (which has some interesting stories about Christ in it)?

Have you heard the recent news about the faked research involving cloning and stem-cell research?
The point is that there are cheats who will try to use God, Darwin, or anything the can to make a buck.
I haven't followed Kent Hovind's work and I haven't studied his work.
I tend to weigh the message on it's own merits no matter who the messenger may be. Even you. ;)

I have seen (not attended) some colleges like this that operate out of a rented store front. Looks like Kent Hovind has a folding chair college.

Yes, I read about that. The difference is, they got caught because of peer review by fellow scientists.

Creationists don't have that, Hovind is not interested in having his work peer reviewed because he is doing it all for profit. He is a master scam artist, and a tax fraud as well.

(There is no chance that any scientific find will sway their views, they say, because the Bible's account of history is complete and unerring. )

If you're this closeminded, you probably are not dealing with science.

I believe God made the Earth and heavens, I just don't think he took seven 24-hour days. I can live with those seven days being 14 billion years or so long.

Einstein demonstrated that how long it takes for some point in the universe to mark out one 24 hour day depends on your inertial reference frame, either as a fraction of the speed of light or in an intense gravitational field.

The time dilation equations make it very clear that it's entirely possible that there are places and things in the universe which have experienced only a few thousand years since the beginning of time.

And that is scientific fact.

You may not know the history of these threads.

For a long time, evos have been called communists, liberals, condemned explicitly and implicitly (and the condemner being JOYFUL at the prospect) to Hell, among other things.

It's payback. That and some people really are stupid. Follow one of these arguments where one of the creationists decides not to answer a question or attempts to switch subjects or the complete misapprehension that evolution=no faith in God.

You're kidding, right? Have you ever heard of Down Syndrome?

Yes I have. We're talking about the time of Creation, not the current environmental situation. Who knows what causes this? But one thing for sure, they are little angels, and their parents are the nicest people you will ever meet. God gives us all different challenges to bring us to a greater faith.

Also, again, there are no dinosaurs with faulty mutations that have ever been found. We're speaking of how we got here. Not to mention the fact that the 'big implosion' or whatever theory they call it when the galaxy retracts like a big rubberband snapping back into place: On NOVA, measurements show the galaxy is not only NOT slowing down, and NOT snapping back, but it is EXCELLERATING outward, defying decades of scientific thought.

I wish I could have heard the sound of God's laughter when they calculated that one.

"...a 'bang' requires fuel, heat, and oxygen,..."

Proof please

Its a given scientific theory, but I would just throw it back at you and say: Make a 'bang' in the void of space without them and prove us wrong, please.

It takes a surprising degree of ignorance of the scientific process to not know that the burden of proof is on the one making the assertion. You have asserted that a "Bang" takes oxygen, fuel and heat. I asked you to prove that assertion. The burden of proof is on you. It is not my burden to prove wrong every ignorant thing you can think to spout.

BTW, the big bang theory does not suggest that a bang occurred in the void of space. It asserts that everything, including the void itself came into being at one moment of expansion that is still ongoing. Not to know the theory you are railing against is a less surprising degree of ignorance but ignorance nonetheless.

The theory is in your science textbooks, so why do I need to teach it to you?

Thanks for the speedy response, I see you put a lot of thought into it. Now to what theory do you refer? The one about "bangs" needing oxygen and heat or the Big Bang?
