This is a police sketch of the rape suspect. A woman who stopped at a Cottonwood Heights gas station around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday was raped on a restroom floor as she held her 1-year-old son in her arms and her 3-year-old daughter looked on.
The 21-year-old woman stopped at the Phillips 66 at 2235 E. Fort Union Blvd. after her daughter said she needed a restroom, said Salt Lake County sheriff's spokesman Paul Jaroscak.
The woman checked to make sure the restroom door was open, then returned to her car, got her two children and went back in, Jaroscak said. There, a man was waiting for her.
"He told her not to scream, not to flee, or he would hurt the 3-year-old," Jaroscak said.
The woman did not struggle, all of the while holding her 1-year-old son in her arms, he said. After the man left, the woman stayed in the restroom with her children for several minutes. She did not see which direction he left, or if he had a car.
Traumatized and frightened, the woman reported the incident Wednesday after a friend or family member encouraged her to contact police, Jaroscak said.
Her alleged attacker is described as a Latino male who is between 35 and 40 years old; he is about 6 feet, 1 inch tall, with a muscular build, short black hair, brown eyes and a teardrop tattoo near the corner of one of his eyes.
The man was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans, a navy blue baseball cap and black shoes with a red line on the side. He speaks English with a heavy Spanish accent.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Chad Reyes at 743-5851 or Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office dispatch at 743-7000. lrosetta@sltrib.com

What else is new? Any bets as to whether the perp is an "undocumented" "immigrant"?
OMG...
Reason Number 40985890471 for women to carry.
No words.

They'll find him......I hope he resists and endamgers the Cops adequately when they find him.......
If this still means what I think it does - he has a record and has been in prison for at least a year? Of course, if he's "old school", er "skool"... it would mean he'd killed someone, in which case this woman and her children are very lucky to be alive..
I'd read that teardrop tats are "earned" by murdering someone.
Sick, sadistic bastard! The teardrop means he killed someone while in prison. He is part of a Latino street gang - the worst kind of human refuse. Just give me a gun - I'll take care of him.
Find him and kill him.

Get in line
How awful!! Bad enough to be raped, but for your kids to have to see it too??
Prayers for this young family.
And a rope for this sick sonovab*tch.
"Temporary guest rapist".
I don't want to get banned from the board for gory details. Suffice to say, the criminal should be declassified from being human, or animal for that matter, and subject to no rights whatsoever. Only under this could fitting justice be legally administered.
I know where they should sandpaper him when they catch him (which they will).
Not too many guys running around with teardrop tattoos in Utah, I presume.

Just give me a gun - I'll take care of him.
As a woman and a mother give me a gun too. But I want to have a little "fun" with him first-something Amnesty International would define as torture. Shooting him outright would be too easy on him.
Does Utah have the death penalty?

That's a gang Too if I'm not mistaken. Made famous by John Waters in "Cry Baby"
