A key witness to the character of Judge Samuel A. Alito has been removed from the Senate Judiciary Committee Democrats' testimony list, FOXNews.com has learned.
Stephen R. Dujack, editor of The Environmental Forum magazine and fellow Princeton University alumnus, was expected to testify about a controversial student organization that counted Alito as a member. Dujack confirmed to FOXNews.com late Friday that he was no longer testifying, but said he could not elaborate.
A spokesman for Texas Republican Sen. John Cornyn, a committee member, said he had been notified of the list change shortly before 7 p.m. EST. Earlier on Friday, Cornyn's office circulated a 2003 Los Angeles Times editorial in which Dujack compared animals killed for food to victims of the Holocaust. Whether the editorial factored into the decision to drop Dujack from the witness list was not clear.
Democratic committee members said as recently as Thursday that they were looking forward to answers regarding Alito's membership in the now-defunct Concerned Alumni of Princeton (CAP). CAP was formed not long after Princeton began to admit women, and was critical of affirmative action admissions policies. Dujack and other critics of CAP accused the organization's leadership of racism, sexism and "dirty tactics."
Alito listed his CAP membership in a 1985 memo requesting a promotion within the Reagan Justice Department. But in a response to a Senate questionnaire last November, Alito wrote, "A document I recently reviewed reflects that I was a member of the group in the 1980s. Apart from that document, I have no recollection of being a member, of attending meetings or otherwise participating in the activities of the group."

Let's hope more snags await the DemocRATS in the future. Maybe enough to destroy their chances of defeating this nomination.
Is this the best they have? LOL. Alito is in!
These Dims don't even bother to look into the backgrounds and past statements of the nuts they hire to spew the talking points any more. They just pick people with the best anti-Bush propaganda lines and put them on the stand without any thought whatsoever about any moonbat ravings they've made in the past that totally discredit them.
DARN! Bad strategy. Should have waited until they built their entire case around this nut, and then released the editorial.
More proof that the RATS listen to Rush.
Thank you Rush for covering this on your show today.

Who's in charge of the Senate these days? The pusillanimous Republicans? Or the junk yard dog democrats? We shall see.
C'mon -- he couldn't sound any crazier than Anita Hill.
this story still bears watching - they can find someone else to crawl out from under a rock to "attest" to these claims.
It would seem that the looney Left / Democrat Party limp wad has been discharged with the expected impotency.
That is what the Pajamadeen are for.
Great, isn't it?
Ping.
Gosh...one story actually falling in the "good" column today...sheesh.
I heard Sidney Blumenthal on the radio tonight...and he said that Bush's Washington, since before he was elected, has set out to have his own "secret government"..and that all of the stuff we have found out lately...from the leaks in the NYTimes and WaPo...are evidence..
However, he doesn't blame Bush...he says that Cheney has been planning this for years...since he worked for Nixon.
That Bush's ultimate goal, is to get rid of Congress...
One of the ways that Bush's secret government has "done things"...he says...is that those NSA wiretaps/spying were targeting Colin Powell...and they used information that they got from spying on him...to force him into giving that speech at the UN...where he laid out the WMD programs that Saddam had...
and that led to the 11-0 vote of the UN Security Council...
So, at this point...ANY setback would be appreciated, I am sure.
Oh, and Blumenthal tied Alito to this...because he said Alito was upset that his views on wiretapps from 20 years ago was not used...or something like that....and Bush nominating Alito is a payback for his views 20 years ago.
LOL.
Ted Kennedy still does.
