On January 4, 2006 at 5:00 p.m. (PST) the Rose Bowl Game will host the BCS National Championship, between USC and Texas once again showcasing the best of collegiate football in "The Granddaddy of Them All."® The Rose Bowl will be broadcast exclusively on ABC and on ESPN radio.
The Texas coach showed great class IMO when he started out by congratulating USC for 34 straight and two national championships.
------
Two national championships--BS. How many BCS trophies does USC have?
He was incredible tonight. He gave 123%.
I agree but Penn State will have a lot of sentimental feelings behind them and voters often vote with their hearts.
UT alumni wanted to run Mack Brown out of town last year, and now he brings a National Championship back to Texas. First in 37 years!
Watch Pete Carroll slip back into mediocrity when he no longer has Lienart(whatever) and Bush to bail him out. And now they have the little problem of a former player/bar owner talking (and whatever else) to recruits when they come to town. Best Defensive coordinator/head coach in college football? Please.
Hey, I root for the Ags when they're playing anybody but Texas. I think the coolest thing in the world is when we go into the Thanksgiving game both undefeated and in the top five. I haven't seen it for a while, but back in the Daddy D days, Texas, Arkansas, and A&M were in the top five. There were some football parties in the dorms that year.
The Eyes of Texas are upon you,
All the live long day.
The Eyes of Texas are upon you,
You can not get away.
Do not think you can escape them
At night or early in the morn-
The Eyes of Texas are upon you
'Till Gabriel blows his horn.
Oh isn't it past your bed-time back there...
Harumph...
LOL
Does anyone know if USC was on the cover of Sports Illustrated this past week?
The best championship was #2 Alabama beating #1 Penn State in 1979. In that game, PSU had eleven tries from the 1-yard line to score a TD, but Bama held them every time. Of course after the game, USC was picked as National Champs after they beat #5 Michigan on a controversial call (Charles White fumbled on the 2-yrd line, but they gave him the go-ahead TD). Go figure.
I will hold you to that...
Notice that ABC couldn't get off the air fast enough!
I don't know.
After Oklahoma and Michigan fell so quickly out this year, it seems to me that the 1st poll this next year might be a bit more circumspect....
And I will say this too....PSU doesn't get enough respect. I think that trend will continue.
Yup back over to ESPN (Remember it's the same company)
Yes, he did -- when they interviewed him as he walked off the field.
It has got to be the most bitter feeling in the world to lose such a close game that could easily have gone the other way. Wow.
And I, too, would have gone for it on 4th. That was the only Texas stop of USC in the 2nd half.
Aw c'mon! That ain't never gonna happen ;)))
I agree, but Bush may be a wide receiver/RB and not a pure running back.
Great...we can go for two in a row!!
Me too, I got so excited that I tangled up my laptop cords and dropped it, knocking out the floppy drive and the battery. My OU grad spouse was shouting and clapping, he was so glad to see Texas win. Great game.
