On January 4, 2006 at 5:00 p.m. (PST) the Rose Bowl Game will host the BCS National Championship, between USC and Texas once again showcasing the best of collegiate football in "The Granddaddy of Them All."® The Rose Bowl will be broadcast exclusively on ABC and on ESPN radio.
LOL, it definitely is, that's why I put the TV guys back on. I knew what happened before it was broadcast.
Your pretty slick there scotty....obviously I was just blowing hot air :)
Alright, good half..let's keep it up 'horns.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.... preprocessed hamburgers!
I think you need to reread the rules. On an interception the ground cannot cause a fumble nor a incomplete if the player intercepting catches it in the air.
Given the number of posts in this thread, I'm pretty sure I'm repeating another post butt...
It's Bush's fault!
Thanks Mike. I'm not up on some of the finer rulings on football these days.
You're on the money. The Big 12 is 6-1 against the spread while the Pac 10 is 1-3. When you consider the Big 12 is putting forth 2/3 or their conference and played four ranked teams before tonight while the Pac 10 is 1-3 against the spread and hasn't played a single ranked team you get the picture. This game is closer than it will end. Texas is looking good so far and I'm not sure SC can answer in the second half.
The rules on that interception are the same as in the pros.
That's the first time I read it, hence all the posts.
Great point...arguments over. They are ALL Bush's fault.
Thank you Poser for the reminder.
Stardust had 70, Caesars 69, MGM Mirage 68½
I do believe there is a difference on this ruling between the pros and college. I believe Mike is right about the ground being a down in college, but I may be mistaken. I'm the wrong guy to officiate on this.
Not to mention, TX gets the ball back at the half
They are discussing how the colors of the uniforms clash with each other, and the shoes are just horrendous.
Satellite radios have a pause and delay feature you can use. Too bad terrestrial radio can't do that as well.
LOL, no...
If I had a choice, I'd rather have Pete Carroll coaching my team down by 6 at the half rather than Mack Brown coaching them up by 6.
That is exactly my point, he didn't need to know the play call and that is what made him a good (great) RB. Not all RB's have that ability and if they don't, they had better be in sync with the QB.
In the NFL it would be an interception too.
Can you explain the ruling of interception on this play from the Colts-Titans game? The situation was this: The receiver and defender both leave their feet to go after a pass. The receiver catches the ball while in the air. The two players make contact in the air, causing the receiver to twist. After the catch, the receiver first makes contact with the ground again on his back, which causes the ball to be jarred loose and pop into the air. The defender grabs the ball out of the air and is downed. I thought the ground couldn't cause a turnover after contact from a defender. -- Greg Simmons, Chicago
To complete a catch, the receiver must come down inbounds with the ball in his possession and hold onto it after contacting the ground. In your play, the catch has not been completed, which means that the loose ball is not a fumble, but part of the pass. When the ball bounces off of the intended receiver, the defender grabbing the ball out of the air is an interception and the defense gets the football. The ground cannot cause a fumble; however, this play was not a fumble.
