Attention all: individuals without clearance (e.g., journos) are not subject to prosecution regarding classified materials. Can they be charged with knowing receipt of classified materials?

I hope they get that 5-year-old that outed his parents' super-secret vacation at his father's airport news conference. Don't worry. As of this moment,
He's on double-secret probation!

Re: Intelligence committee -- McCain's not, but there's an interesting line-up of possible leakers, starting with the Vice-Chair, JR IV of WV (my opinion, of course -- and it looks like quite a few others are thinking along those same lines):

If the reporter refuses to give up his sources, he or she will be jailed. And James Risen will be sent to a harsher prison than Judith Miller. As long as James Risen is getting buggered in prison, at least there will be some justice.

Gee whiz, Mr. Grumpy Gills. We are having a little optimism here.
Oh, don't get me wrong...I'd like nothing better than to see anyone with a (D-) after his/her name "frogmarched" all the way to Leavenworth, but it's not going to happen.
The best we can hope for is to reduce the fire hose to a trickle for a few weeks.

Do you think Patrick Henry would have had any problem with the interception of British mail or dispaches during the Revolutionary War? Do you really believe, were he alive today, that he would object to Bush using his authority to protect this nation from foreign attack? If you do, you're living in kookooland.

Anyone want to predict who the Sunday show guests will be?
I'll say McCain, Biden and Harry.

My suggestion of using lie detectors in public was not about the veracity of what would be gained rather the public perception that leaking classified secrets designed to protect we the people are taken seriously.
You may well be correct on your other points. Personally I think the leak had more to do with damaging Condi without ever having to say her name at present for future political advantage. These liberals have not given a rat's behind about homeland security, they are obsessed with the next election.

Angkor disagreed with you upthread. Is either of you an attorney with experience in this practice area?

Rockefeller would be wise to avoid that circuit for the time being.

Wonderful news! I hope that we see some of the MSM idiots put away for this!

Horrible logic Not when the FBI gets to decide who is a terrorist. Also since the FBI is making those statements why isn't the domestic WOT won?

"...against those nations, organizations, or persons..."
the above seems to cover anybody, as there is no specific or even general) exclusion(s)

Someone on fox just hinted that the NYT may be in as much trouble as the leaker.
