Following the Dec. 7 season finale of South Park, titled "Bloody Mary," the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights slammed the network for its irreverent portrayal of church icons and sought to block the episode from being rebroadcast.
It appears the group may have met with success. A repeat of the finale was scheduled to air Wednesday night, but was seemingly pulled from the Comedy Central lineup without explanation.
In the episode, a statue of the Virgin Mary is believed to be bleeding from its rear end, inspiring faithful parishioners to flock from miles around to be healed by the miraculous blood.

Rush Limbaugh certainly fits into your category. I still can't work out why he isn't in jail.
That Savage guy is clearly putting on a show for entertainment purposes.
anything not forbidden is mandatory
Maybe I'm old and out of it, but I haven't heard that outside of physics. Pretty funny.
...all the way to the bank.
So now you guys are slamming Rush. This is a very enlightening look into what South Park Republicans are all about.
I've never watched a single episode.
Are you saying I and others cannot express an opinion about what people are writing about the show?
You don't know the first thing about me. Limbaugh has admitted to criminality during the drugs scandal and should be in jail.
Have you ever watched South Park? Or do you just like talking about it to make yourself angry?
He has a good formula.
He takes a topic of legitimate concern to people. Then re-states the topic in extreme manner. And then he offers a solution that is all out of proportion to the problem.
Please don't consider me a representative sample of any group.
I agree.
As for hucksters, Pat Robertson and Pat Buchanan come to mind.
Who is Weiner?
Michael "Savage's" real last name.
I like you so what does that make me:)Just killing time for TX to come home thread.
Michael "Savage's" real last name.
Really? That's hysterical! Savage Weiner!
Yeah, I guess he figured the sheep would prefer to be fleeced by someone 'butch'
Well, I suppose that this is excellent news for the humor-impaired.
OBTW, have you seen "Team America - World Police"? Yes, it was made by the same two guys behind South Park.
It was the most patriotic, pro-American (though humorous) view of the WOT you will ever see.
It spared no mercy for:
a. Terrorists
b. The French
c. The entire Hollywood 'anti-war' crowd, starting with Michael Moore and on down the line.
Unless of course the occasional blue word and squirting puppet-blood makes you nauseus (think of the stuffy frumpy old society hag fainting at the sight of one of the Three Stooges more irreverent moments).
BTW, I did catch the episode in question. Yes, it was tasteless - but it was also funny. Especially when the Pope examined the 'miracle' and declared it a fake because miraculous statues of the Virgin Mary bleed from their mouth, not their *ss.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!! (But I don't suppose you'd see the humor in that, would you?)
P.S. There's gonna be a South Park marathon on New Year's Eve. I think I'll watch it as I avoid going out on a night when there are too many drunks on the road, like - perhaps - you?
P.P.S. Call this the "Simmons Corolary to the Universal Law of Hypocrisy": The people who wear their religiousity on their sleeves and protest the most are the ones whose actions are the farthest from their words. BANK on it. A lifetime of experience is speaking. All of the knives in my back were put there by the MOST 'holier than though' hypocrites that I have ever met. Are you perchance in their ranks - a CINO (Christian-in-name-only)???
Color me intolerant.
I'm not Catholic so I don't feel guilty in saying that presenting this image would compel me to quite possibly knock out all of someone's teeth.
Sorry folks, I've got my limits. I simply won't watch it, but I hardly blame any Christians for getting upset at this. My guess is that is there hadn't been a protest, most of them would have never known anyways.
Flame away...I'm off to a "Michael Jackson" thread to cleanse myself.
