... the idea that the four fundamental forces of physics alone could rearrange the fundamental particles of nature into spaceships, nuclear power plants, and computers, connected to laser printers, CRTs, keyboards and the Internet, appears to violate the second law of thermodynamics in a spectacular way.
Anyone who has made such an argument is familiar with the standard reply: the Earth is an open system, it receives energy from the sun, and order can increase in an open system, as long as it is "compensated" somehow by a comparable or greater decrease outside the system. S. Angrist and L. Hepler, for example, in "Order and Chaos", write, "In a certain sense the development of civilization may appear contradictory to the second law.... Even though society can effect local reductions in entropy, the general and universal trend of entropy increase easily swamps the anomalous but important efforts of civilized man. Each localized, man-made or machine-made entropy decrease is accompanied by a greater increase in entropy of the surroundings, thereby maintaining the required increase in total entropy."
According to this reasoning, then, the second law does not prevent scrap metal from reorganizing itself into a computer in one room, as long as two computers in the next room are rusting into scrap metal -- and the door is open. In Appendix D of my new book, The Numerical Solution of Ordinary and Partial Differential Equations, second edition, I take a closer look at the equation for entropy change, which applies not only to thermal entropy but also to the entropy associated with anything else that diffuses, and show that it does not simply say that order cannot increase in a closed system. It also says that in an open system, order cannot increase faster than it is imported through the boundary. ...

Huh? Are you saying Katrina came into existence as a result fof divine intervention? And that hurricanes need divine "help" to break up?
These are all natural and explainable phenomenon. But your post shows how dangerous and insidious ID is. If more people thought like you there would be no Meteorology.
And you unbelievers are the FIRST we'll come after!!! HAHAHAHA! (Evil laugh)

However, I do take small exception to your matter statement. If you exchange matter for energy did you destroy it? E=mc2. In the not too distant future energy for matter exchange will be perfected - certainly not as long as Sol has been shining on this hunk of rock.
What PROOF?
No; THEY take turns.
YOU are the ADULT, and when you're done, THEN they can play.
I needed to go to bed, anyway! I like to set an example by going to bed early :-).
So does my tub!
Gets under yer skin; don't it!

New baby doesn't have a name yet. The longer Der Prinz delays making a decision, the more likely we are to end up with "Frank" :-).
I printed off this article and read it this morning. Not bad, but a little garbled and repetitive. He's no Mark Steyn!
Bump
"Just because a fossil appears or a species becomes evident doesn't prove evolution, either!"
Just because some words are written in a book doesn't prove Creation either. I find it most amusing that the people who wrote the Bible (namely the Old Testament) chose themselves as "the Chosen People". How convenient!
Well, I have stopped BEATING my troll; if that counts for anything.
"A one-time-event, of course, is NOT repeatable; but if E is as it is claimed: Science - then it CAN be verified.
We C's merely ask that it be done."
I'd ask the same thing of Creationists/IDers - in order for one to prove either of those, they must prove the existence of the Creator. Simply saying that "Well, it's written in this book!!" doesn't cut it.
Hey, a cretoid compared me to Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot AND CALIGULA (et al) just the other day. Caligula! LOL.
Proverbs 25:2
It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings.
Thanks for saying that it HASN'T been done.
