Top 10 RINOs (Republican In Name Only) No McCain?!?
Human Events ^ | 12/28/05 | Editors

1. Sen. Lincoln Chafee (R.I.) Once approached by Democratic Leader Harry Reid to switch parties, Chafee has long supported liberal policies. He backs legal abortion, gay rights, federal-funded health care, strict environmental protections and a higher minimum wage. Opposes ANWR drilling. Also was the only Republican in Congress not to endorse the President’s reelection and one of three who tried to gut Bush’s tax cuts.

2. Sen. Olympia Snowe (Maine) A self-described “centrist,” Snowe scored a 100% pro-choice voting record as scored by NARAL and consistently votes with Democrats on social issues.

3. Sen. Arlen Specter (Pa.) “Snarlin’ Arlen” warned Bush not to nominate judges who might overturn Roe v. Wade, joined Chaffee reducing tax cuts and supported Democrats on the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty, HMO and overtime regulation. Also opposed school choice in Washington, D.C.

Like I said, it has prevented Ted Kennedy and his friends from setting the agenda.

Whatever the RINOs can do, they can do worse.

I support his McCain's vision because:
1. I am appalled at the level of spending by the federal government and I do NOT want my grandchildren to be responsible for this increasing debt.
2. I do not understand why this administration insists on expanding the government (i.e. with acts such as No Child Left Behind, and a whole new Cabinet Department--Homeland Defense--when, if current departments such as CIA, FBI, etc., were held accountable we would not need it; and why incompetent, obsolete agencies--BIA, DEA, FCC--are allowed to continue).
3. Why we cannot go to a flat tax rate.
4. Why troops went into battle without armored vests.
Why immigration laws are not enforced.
5. Why harsh torture of captured enemies would EVER be defended when there are better humane and more productive methods to get information (incidentally, McCain has advocated the use of waterboarding as a non-torture method).
6. Why Russia's Putin is embraced as a "friend".
7. Why a personal and unqualified lawyer was ever considered for the SC.
8. Why ex-FEMA head Brown, who falsified his resume', ever got an important and critical job in the administration.
9. Why Trent Lott was hung out to dry over an innocuous and innocent remark about a 100-year-old icon of the Senate.
10 and why religious zealots and kooks like Pat Robertson are entertained and supported.

>Facts are facts...back in the '60s, when he was counted on to provide an air defense role for his country during the peak of the Cold War, Bush transferred from the Texas ANG to the Alabama ANG to aid an Alabama Republican <

Facts are facts. This event occurred in the early 70's when the Texas Guard was switching airplanes and Bush would have needed to requalify.(probably would not have been allowed to without reupping.)

I think you need to brush up on your math skills. If all of the persons on that list were Democrats, Republicans would still be in control. Most of them vote with the Democrats much of the time anyway, so your argument is weak. Plus, you must factor in just how effective they are at weakening our own party. If you vote like a Democrat, you might as well be one.

Well, they only had 10 slots... maybe he's the most popular but not the most RINO. (And believe me, that's a scary thought!)

That's a good tagline. I'd be more specific though: "I wish Republicans were in the majority in congress."

All of that has been debunked ad nauseum throughout 2004.

Bush served his country - end of story.

Plus, Sen. John Warner (R-VA) is much more of a RINO than McCain ever even thought of being. I see McLame in the top 15 maybe. Top 20, definately.

He's an absolute traitor who erased everything he did in Vietnam by pushing through the Campaign Finance Reform bill and now the torture bill. He's NOT a "patriot" - he pissed on the Constitution. He doesnt deserve any connection with Reagan - he is too much of a slimeball to even think of putting himself on the level of Reagan. He is doing everything he can to hog-tie President Bush with this new torture bill because he's got his head too far up his ass to understand the valor of todays military - and if giving terrorists their own Miranda rights is "defending foreign affairs" then he needs to be tarred and feathered, not lauded.

I WILL NEVER VOTE FOR HIM. HE IS A TRAITOR. HE SUCKS. End of story.

"Al Qaeda's Bill of Rights?"

That's how the Harmless Lovable Fuzzball (aka El Rushbo, The Maha Rushie,..) described it.

Bush served his country - end of story.

I did not claim he didn't...only that he (as demonstrated by the facts) did not meet the F104 flight duty he signed up for--his last two years in the ANG were spent at an Alabama base that had no aircraft. And, in his last year in the Guard, he amassed only 56 points which would not have qualified him for a good Guard year had he chosen to stay in (4 points for each weekend drill + two-weeks ACTDUTRA equals 62 points).

Refresh my memory, WHO SIGNED the bills into law? And just where does the buck stop at accountability?

WIth all due respect, I do not see how McCain is the anti-thesis to your enumerated list. Take spending, how has McCain advocated less spending? And this torture bill business, c'mon; torture is already against the convention. All this ban does is weaken our ability to gain vital information that will save American lives.

...not only advocated it, he championed it in criticism of the current budget (with its Bridge to Nowhere, etc. and other pork provisions). The pork hungry Republicans who opt for these inclusions are as bad as the minority RATS who, thankfully, no longer can be as effective as they once were. Torture has been proven time and again to serve little good because the person being tortured will say anything to stop the pain--BTW, it was information gained through torture that Saddam's alleged WMDs were believed stockpiled.

Campaign finance should be called First Amendment reform.

Actually, it could also be called the "Incumbent RINO-Dem & Left-Wing Media Protection Act".

This so-called Campaign Finance "reform" enabled the left-wing media, the George Soro's of the world, and left-wing, un-American groups like Move-On.org to game our political system, and severly restricted the capability of average Americans (like members of the NRA) to get THEIR voice heard in Washington.

The main purpose for the 1st Amendment was to allow POLITICAL speech for all citizens, and McCain's (and his demonRAT comrade, Feingold) CFR bill bastardized what the founders intended.

McCain is a SCUMBAG RINO, and no ex-squid/DU-er (or any other star-struck cheerleader for RINOs) is going to convince most of us otherwise.

Pretty pathetic when the ones who claim to be on 'our side' turn and, by their actions, disown our platform.
