He is not doing too bad does not help that the weather has turned bad so he is a bit nervous about me going out tomorrow to register the death. We have snow.

As a grief counselor I can tell you (and you know this) .. your mind will be one place but your heart & soul another. the mind gets there first. Some times the heart & soul never do.. each person & their journey is different

I've certainly noticed these threads before, but wasn't sure if it was a daily thing or only when something new came up.

That is similar to my experience of church as a child. The evangelical church I went to had a carol service on the nearest Sunday to Christmas but no service on Christmas Day. In fact in some of the more strict branches they did not even celebrate Christmas thinking of it as a secular celebration.

More recent times though most Evangelical Churches in Britain now do hold Christmas Day Services as they see this as both a time to fellowship with Members and an opportunity to to witness to non Christians who may only go to church at special times such as Christmas and Easter.

I think everything is going to make him nervous for a while. Are you walking to where you're going? Just be careful if there is ice. Don't want you falling and hurting yourself. God bless you both!

Nice comment, jrp. Drop in any time. Or ask to be pinged. You'll be kept totally up to date about what our President has done and said.

I agree. I think though in a way with mum it has helped that she was not really my mum for such a long time that I had gradually come to terms with loosing her and although upsetting that she is no longer physically there her suffering is over and now is the time for me and dad to adjust to really loosing her. Before we were sort of in limbo. That is what I feel anyway may sound hard to some but in reality the lady I visited for the last year was not really my mum. In my mind my mum will always be a fit energetic always working or cooking lady.

thnaks. the enlargement is not good. when I made that a few months ago, I reduced it too small.. not sure I saved it in the ping format to redo it. I tried to make it bigger & it is fuzzy. Every day we learn a little more huh?

When my favorite grandmother died some years ago, I found it would hit me in waves. I would be at work and found I needed a handkerchief handy to dab the tears. She meant so much to me, one of the two in my childhood whose love was unconditional, and even though I had not lived near her for 37 years, and knew she was with the Lord, happy to be with my grandfather again, I felt the loss of her so very keenly.

I'm glad you are getting on as well as you are. It must be a great comfort that her suffering is indeed over, and forever over, replaced by undiluted love and peace.

Prayers continue for you all.

I will get a lift to the hospital to get the death certificate then get dropped off in town to register the death. From there will drop off copy into the bank, do a couple of bits of essential shopping and head back home. If I have a far bit of shopping will ring for dad's friend to collect me or if only a few bits get the buss back.
