Looks like I'll be on with Bridget Quinn and John Scott "debating" Alan Lichtman over the place of the Clinton impeachment in textbooks.
Among other things, I'll demand fairness, that as the second impeached president he gets every bit as much attention as the first---Andrew Johnson. I'll also insist that he was acquitted only because the Senate refused to do its job.
And it was not about sex.
There, that should work.
What time?
Yes what time?
Good hunting! We're all with you! I can't wait to read the after-action report!
Get some.
If he uses the word "coup" tell him "Yeah we were really looking forward to a Gore Presidency (sarc)."
If you only get to make one point, make sure that's it!
Whose show? What time?
And the record is showing that there's more to know, such as the Barrett report that was squelched to prevent more impeachment action against 42
Walter Laqueuer's the Terrible Secret posited that the stories of what was going on in Nazi Germany were so horrible that no one could believe that they were true (until 2 people escaped from the death camps and met with Allan Dulles). The Clintons trade on the idea that they can do the worst things imaginable because if challenged, it would seem too far fetched to be accurate.
Will the history books include the (important) notation that Clinton did tour Communist Czechoslovakia in '68 with the wife of a Communist party big wig there?
Bingo.
Thanks.
The Liberal Clinton backers will have their talking points they parrot regardless of the question. They feel they must have Clinton regarded as a great President so the people might be fooled into electing another morally deficient Democrat.
One question I'd like asked is if the perjury conviction was bad enough to get him disbarred why wasn't it serious enough to disqualify him from being President?
Most people do not cite good economic times as a primary legacy, which is what Klinton apoloigists are trying to do. No one on the street could tell you who was president in the "Roaring 20's". So Klinton will most likely go down being remembered for the Lewinsky scandal and a stained dress. Pathetic really.
Let me guess, they call you the "Right wing professor" on campus?
To be honest, Clinton's impeachment probably deserves more attention than A. Johnson's
Hell, it was the Arkansas Supreme Court that disbarred him; he probably nominated a few of those guys.
2nd president impeahced...first ELECTED president to be impeached.
Give 'em h-e-double hockey sticks
Will be watching...what time? BTW, check this thread out (it discusses Clintoon's "legacy" in textbooks): http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1547739/posts
I'm told around 11:00 a.m. EST.
