Gee, can't we let the children enjoy the myth for a little while? Farrisi may not be a Grinch, but she certainly has Scrooge-tendencies.

"Farrisi doesn’t believe in Santa Claus, and she doesn’t think anyone else should, either. She made her feelings clear to the classroom full of 6- and 7-year-olds, some of whom went home crying."

Let me guess . . . Blue State?

Why do grown-ups insist on treating kids as grown-ups? Let them believe what they want. That's the magic of childhood!

What a self-important bee-otch!! These were 6 and 7 year olds! In the week before Christmas! What the hell was she trying to prove? I'm sure she feels mighty proud of herself now.

This woman should be fired for her insensitivity to the cultural traditions of Christians. She lacks the temperament to teach young children.

A government entity is terrorizing children and we have proof!

Someone tell Sen Kerry, quick!

I told my children that Santa was "pretend," but it's fun to play "pretend." I didn't want to breach their trust by lying to them. I made it very clear to them that they were not to tell other children that. My children still got to enjoy Christmas. This teacher is just hateful.

What a shame! I tell my children that it is a fun game but I would never, ever tell someone else's child that he didn't exist. My kids do have fun with the game and aren't quite sure some times if it is a game or not. (intentional, I feel bad if I lie to them but I don't want to ruin Christmas) I told them never to tell anyone that it is a game. My 12 year old just asked me again if Santa is real. I didn't tell her no. I will probably be flamed for these views but they are perfectly happy pretending.

"He also noted that the handling of Santa Claus isn’t covered in the school code."

“We do not have a Santa Claus policy,” he said. “It’s unfortunate, but I really can’t say anything about it.”

Hey A**hole, how about a little common sense, you freakin' moron!!

While I agree with the teacher's position on the Santa Claus issue, she was in no place to say that to those children.

It should only be handled by parents.

Our 5 year old knows that Santa, while a very fun story, is just pretend. But, *we* made the decision to tell her that, not some school teacher.

What a cruel, vicious woman that "teacher" is. She shouldn't be let near a classroom of children. I'm pretty sure this is not the first time she's pulled something like this. Very easy to torment a bunch of six year olds. She's basically just another cowardly terrorist.

I don't know that this is a firing offense. But you know, it's amazing how quickly substitute teacher assignments can dry up sometimes...

It's astoundingly arrogant of this idiot to feel that she just had to 'enlighten' these children. She is obvioulsy convinced that she did the right thing, after all, what those parents told those children was false!

“I had to call the school,” said Schaeffer, a part-time custodial employee for the school district who is on temporary leave after complications from her last child’s birth. “I had to do something.”

So she complained to the authorities that the teacher wouldn't lie to her kids? She must be a Blue stater. Stop teaching Santa Claus, and what next? They might stop teaching that Bill Clinton was our greatest president!

At a church meeting last week the men went around talking about their favorite Christmas memories. My husband said because of his delivery job this time of year is a blur. But, he likes playing Santa Claus two months out of the year. He told me this when we got home. My children have been excited since that their dad is Santa Claus.
