Maybe there is hope in Maine for the GOP.

Not a chance. Their disapproval is probalby because they view him as too conservative.

I wonder what former TN governor (and winner of the national RINO of the year award) Don Sundquist's ratings were. He was trying to shove an income tax down our throats despite well over 85% objection to it.

These polls depend upon the agenda of the pollster.

A state poll of 600 people. Consider it garbage.

"We don't feel that this is a credible poll because we don't know who is responding to the computerized questions," said Crystal Canney, the governor's communications director. "I can tell you that in actual meetings with people this week in Hancock and Oxford counties, he's been talking about the Dirigo [health program] and heating [fuel shortages]. He's just received an incredible response. If we were going to take anecdotal stuff and create a poll out of it based on those meetings, I would give him [an approval] rating of 95 to 100."

Yup, yup, yup! Old Baldy, the Zombie of Bangor, has the unions talking up Dirigo health for him, not admitting that the program is deep in the red just a year after its launch.

And Baldy's leadership position on heating oil and fuel shortages? It's Bush's fault.

Elected to lead Maine out of her economic doldrums, Baldy has decided that with over two hundred countries in the world to do business with, economic salvation lies in a $10 million deal with Fidel!

What a putz! What a loser!

Gov. Bob Taft, R-Ohio, placed 50th nationally in the survey with an 80 percent disapproval rating. He was recently convicted on state criminal ethics charges and is now under federal indictment, accused of engaging in illegal fundraising for President Bush.

OHIO ROCKS!!!!!!

Like Gray Davis he's very unpopular but will probably still be reelected. Unfortunately a recall is unlikely.
