Dear Freepers,
This afternoon I was in a very bad crash. My car is totaled, hit broadside by a pick up truck. thank G-D I have just been discharged from the hospital with just some bruises. I am in a lot of pain, on meds, but I will be OK.
I just want to let you know I am hanging in here, I could use your prayers.
G-D has spared me so I can tell people to drive carefully and stay alert! May you all be blessed with a safe Christmas and Chanukah full of joy and close to your loved ones.

I was wearing a lap and shoulder belt. The airbag did not deploy bc it was a side impact. I am so glad that you're fine! Take it easy awhile, and take those pain meds if you need them.
I totalled my mini-van in October. I was hit from the side, right at the driver's side front tire. My airbags did deploy. Other than breaking my glasses and throwing some dust in my eyes, we were all fine. But I did want to let everyone know that at least some side impacts can deploy the airbags.

Glad you made it out with minor injuries but it is still a bummer no matter how slight it is and yours sounds like it was fairly severe--at least to your poor car if not to your body later. We got into a fairly minor fender bender while I was pregnant with my last and it shook me up well into the week even though none of us were hurt. That was something minor so I definitely can understand how someone living after some serious trauma (war, crime, etc.) might have some mental problems afterward.
My parents nearly got their clocks cleaned a few months ago. My dad had the right of way but if he had gone my mom is sure that they both would have been killed by this guy running the light--she estimated him to be going 60-70 miles per hour. What is scary is that my dad is 75 and not quite the driver he used to be--I'm glad his senses/reflexes weren't dulled that day. Stay safe and I hope you have better days soon.
