See In re Sealed Case, 3 10 F.3d at 745; United States v. Duggan, 743 F.2d 59. 72 (2d Cir. 1984) (recognizing that the Fourth Amendment implications of foreign intelligence surveillance are far different from ordinary wiretapping, because they are not principally used for criminal prosecution). Exactly! Intelligence collection is not for law enforcement purposes. It doesn't matter whether or not the findings would stand up in court. That's not the idea. The idea is to provide warning of catastrophic attacks by armed agents of a foriegn power.

Oh, that information is helpful alright, Mr. Assistant Attorney General. It has me laughing so hard I'm afraid I'll hurt myself.

"Any such briefings will be conducted in a manner that will not endanger national security."Meaning "your access to classified information has been terminated!"
Do you really think so? I detest nuance.

I can't get over the left's fake moral indignation and apparent amnesia over both previous court decisions that support the president's authority in this matter as well as Clinton's use of similar authority.

A Must Read:
Unholy Alliance :
Radical Islam and the American Left (Hardcover)
by David Horowitz
**************************************
Vastly Illuminating, September 25, 2004
I had long wondered why people on the Left had the propensity to speak more positively about people who would slit their throats than they do about their own country, which affords them more freedom and opportunity than anywhere else. David Horowitz has answered that question thoroughly and convincingly in his Unholy Alliance. Where I felt bewildered and confused, I now feel crystal clear. Unholy Alliance is such a great book.
It begins with the leftist movements at the beginning of the 20th Century, and works its way up to the present day, exploring the anti-American attitude of these movements in detail. Horowitz shows that the enemies of the US back then are largely the same group today, operating under the same misperceptions, making the same mistakes, and pursuing the same impossible utopia.
Individual chapters are included on the Patriot Act (I was persuaded that it is a GOOD thing); the democratic flip-flop on Iraq once G.W. Bush implemented what they agreed with Clinton needed to be done; the driving components of the current anti-war movement; as well as chapters on individual personalities who are major spokespeople of the Left. Horowitz covers a lot of ground, and he covers it concisely and clearly. Unholy Alliance is richly informative without ever being boring or plodding.
This book is so illuminating that I simply cannot do justice to it here. I love people who reason so clearly that they help me get my own reasoning clear. Horowitz is just that type of person! In the terrain of mindless clichés (no-blood-for-oil, etc.), he is a breath of real fresh air.

I just see PDF and move on and ignore it; otherwise I seem to approach near-crash status. It won't surprise me in the least if the computer guru just tells me to buy a new hard drive, even though this computer is only 2 years old.

At the bottom of Page 4, there is this statement from a court case "Haig vs Agee" (1981):
"It is obvious and unarguable that no governmental interest is more compelling than the security of the Nation."
In one phrase, this captures what the Democrats are fighting against.....what they do not recognize and want to destroy....the "compelling interest" of the Nation to protect itself.
despicable bastards!

That puts paid to this month's "scandal."
Stay tuned for whatever the MSM fabricates for next month (and the next)...

The arguments are complicated, but the bottom line is clear. As a consequence of prior decisions of the US Supreme Court, and lower courts including a Circuit Court of Appeals and the FISA Court itself, the President does have the very authority which he has claimed and used in this matter. Furthermore, prior Presidents had and used the same authority.
So anyone like John ("I don't have a clue") Dean and Senator Barbara ("box of rocks") Boxer, who are prattling about "impeachment," have to explain why they did not seek impeachment on the same grounds against every prior President, beginning with Jimmy Carter. Absent that explanation, they are rightly dismissed as bigoted hypocrites.
Did I miss anything?

Well it means that they will no longer recieve classified info from this NSA program.
Now if the repubs had a set, they would be demanding that these "accused leakers" immediately resign from the Senate Intelligence committee. If the shoe were on the other foot you know the Dems would be.

If post #12 does not help you, due to not being able to show the tool bars while in a pdf document window, etc.. TRY THIS. Depress the "v" key. Take note of the cursor shape. Now depress the "h" key. Notice it goes back to the default mouse cursor for move.
Now depress the "v" key again to get the verticle bar for a cursor. Position your cursor where you want to cut and as normal drag until you highlite what you want to cut. Now depress the CNTRL "c" sequence to copy the text into the buffer.
Open up your Microsoft Word or other word processor, and using the CNTRL "v" keys paste the text into your editor's window. This CNTRL V sequence will also allow you to paste stuff from the PDF document into a Freeper Post.
Hope this helps.

I had a FUBAR with my communities electricity one time during an update of Adobe and it gave me all kinds of fits for a while. I ended up removing it and reinstalling it. Troubles I was having with it ceased after that. I don't know if that will help you out or not but it did solve my troubles.
To: Peach
The least that should happen is that he loses his seat on the Senate Intel Commettee
Why is he still there??
Why doesn't the Senate investigate who the leaker was??
