Boxer Impeachment Letter
Boxer senator online ^ | 12/19/2005 | Barbara Boxer

Posted on 12/19/2005 6:48:51 PM PST by stocksthatgoup

Boxer’s letter is as follows:

On December 16, along with the rest of America, I learned that President Bush authorized the National Security Agency to spy on Americans without getting a warrant from a judge. President Bush underscored his support for this action in his press conference today.

On Sunday, December 18, former White House Counsel John Dean and I participated in a public discussion that covered many issues, including this surveillance. Mr. Dean, who was President Nixon’s counsel at the time of Watergate, said that President Bush is “the first President to admit to an impeachable offense.” Today, Mr. Dean confirmed his statement.

This startling assertion by Mr. Dean is especially poignant because he experienced first hand the executive abuse of power and a presidential scandal arising from the surveillance of American citizens.

Given your constitutional expertise, particularly in the area of presidential impeachment, I am writing to ask for your comments and thoughts on Mr. Dean’s statement.

Unchecked surveillance of American citizens is troubling to both me and many of my constituents. I would appreciate your thoughts on this matter as soon as possible.

Sincerely,
Barbara Boxer
United States Senator

"Barbara Boxer could use a straitjacket, and she seems to comb her hair with a firecracker."

Nah...she is far more famous for the lounge chair in the city council office of San Rafael (or whatever city in Marin). She was caught banging a council "member" years ago by the night janitor....

Isn't that a little bit like saying Tookie Williams
experienced the evils of gangs?

John Dean was an architect of President Nixon's
abuse of power.

I heard the President say that the interceptions made were not made in this country. Can we hold anyone liable for breaking our law in another country? Is there any jurisdiction? I also have a question concerning the difference between normal lawbreakers and enemy agents. Lawbreakers IN our country are afforded civil rights while enemy agents are not protected by our Constitution but rather by the rules of war set forth in the Geneva Convention , Right?

Would you ever trust the leftist nuts to protect us?
Pray we never have to depend on them. I wouldn't put Boxer past inviting Bin Laden for tea. What a nut case.

"Unchecked surveilance of American CITIZENS" STOP RIGHT THERE!!!!

Doesn't ANYONE listen to President Bush when he speaks?
He clearly stated that on the specific incidents in which he signed the executive order to apply surveillance to certain individuals, they were suspects directly or indirectly connected to AL-QUAIDA or terrorists. And she KNEW of his actions long before Friday, LIAR!

Is that true? It wouldn't surprise me, just saying, I never read about that before.

I'm still trying to organize an effective complaint to Boxer because civil words so far fail me.

I've never before been THIS disgusted by Democrats in Congress and I've sure had moments before...but this latest, this is the lowest point in betrayal of the U.S. by Democrats in Congress. Boxer should not be in the Senate and I hope she gets that point, that Americans are disgusted by her, Reid, Hillary, Feingold, Dean and the lot.

They are definitely determined to impeach Bush.

Yes. And the reason for impeachment is irrelevant. It is simply payback for Clinton.

I posted it now and before...

Well known to any politico in the SF Bay Area.

Often mentioned on KSFO in humor! They don't want a lawsuit, but neither does Boxer. The report is buried somewhere, but there, nevertheless.

"It was around 11:30 pm when the janitor was on job going from room to room checking the locks and cleaning the halls as he went along. In the darkness he heard loud noise and moaning. Not immediately recognizing the sounds, he opened the door and found council members Boxer and Shortshaft engaged on the couch."

I believe that is a close report...

I'd like to see Boxer impeached, now that she's raised the subject.

Unless they can get 2/3 of the house to vote in their favor, it isn't going to happen.

And of course with 1) McCain already supporting the executive surveilence decision and, 2) a number of Democrats on record of being briefed and signing off on this type of survelience, and 3)a vast majority of the public supporting the presidents decision currently (and especially if we are attacked again - bet your ass!!), IT AIN'T Gonna Happen! eh, Boxer, do us a favor and shut your pie hole already.

Just as the prophets did in the Old Testament I can sense that something drastic is coming our way.

The first ones climbing all over each other screaming and crying for protection will be those liberal haters called Dimocrats.

..."Boxer...write the suspense novel she's working on, "A Time to Run,"...

Suspense novel? The title suggests to me it is about the Iraq War.

Congress should stay the heck out of the President's business. We are at war. As for impeachment. Let them try, they will not succeed and they will lose more seats. People don't want political turmoil. They want their politicians to work towards governing. Republicans paid a price for impeaching Clinton, and he was guilty of perjury and was later disbarred. Democrats should think long and hard before impeaching anyone. We have elections and as Americans we live with politicians we don't like until the next election-impeachment should not be an option. Personally, I thought it was a mistake to impeach Clinton.
