WASHINGTON, Dec. 18 /U.S. Newswire/ -- House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement tonight in response to President Bush's speech on Iraq:
"Tonight the President acknowledged more of the mistakes he has made in Iraq, but he still does not get it. Iraq did not present an imminent threat to the security of the United States before he began his war of choice. The President's speech tonight was further evidence that after almost three years, he still does not understand that crucial fact.
"President Bush persists in pursuing a flawed policy that has not made the American people safer nor made the Middle East more secure. It is time for a new direction in Iraq -- not more of the same."

Correction: March of 2003.
When is someone with any authority going to demand apologies from these traitors? Why isn't our side expressing anger at these snippy politicized remarks?
I love Miss Betty!!
For what it's worth, I fire off Emails to my Senators and Congressman.
hmmmmmmmm...that link just pulls up a mumble-jumble of coding?
Nancy the Cenobite.
"How do you like my latest facelift + botox injections? Do I look really stunning for the camera now??"
Ooooh. Damned wicked good comparison.
It shouldn't. I've been using QuickTime 7.0.3 to view it and it's working fine here.
Pretty Powerful stuff...Yours?
The crucial fact that Nancy Botoxi doesn't understand after more than four years since 9/11 is that it was the entire Middle East (save Israel) that posed the imminent threat to the United States. Every government over there either assisted or turned a blind eye to violenty anti-American activities. Iraq was right in the middle of it, both literally and figuratively. Divide and conquer was the plan, and Iraq was such an overwhelming success that there's little more conquering needed. George W. Bush protected America, that's all there is to it.
I think its time for a new face-lift for Pelosi...
These libs are clearly demented. Here's their House Leader saying it's time for a new direction, yet today she came out with the announcement that Iraq, as an issue, will NOT have a unified position of the Democrats. Is it me or is that just plain nuts?
This is tantamount to her saying "It's time for a new direction in Iraq, but you're not gonna get one from us Democrats. We take too much of a beating by the public when we openly hate the USA, but we take a fund-raising shellacking when we openly support the war. So we'll just stick to criticizing Bush, since the Media & the Fund Raisers love us for it, and as for the voters, well, that's why we count on dead people's votes - they don't disagree with us".
Anything but democracy apparently.
What the HELL does that mean, Nancy?
It boggles the mind that half the country is stupid enough to actually vote for these idiots.
Victory is untenable for the Defeatist party. Ergo, Pelosi calls for a new direction.
Good catch. But this is really very simple. She wants the progress to stop until the Democrats are in power. THEN the Iraqis are allowed to make progress.
On Thursday or Friday Laura Ingraham announced that Pelosi had stated the Democrats had no unified policy statement on Iraq. I think that's the claim for one reason. They got their butts smacked down hard by the House Republicans when they forced that vote. Now the Dems can't afford to act like they've got an actual policy. They want to play it off as a bunch of random Democrats saying the exact same thing.
Yeah right.
Of course she wants him to change direction. The direction he's going in is leading to victory and she can't have that.
