SoldiersPrayingMom just phoned me in tears to report that Sgt. Greg Parkinson (jmpmstr4u2) had been injured in the explosion of an improvised explosive device.

The Department of Defense called Greg's wife, Tammy, to inform her of the injury just after midnight California Time. They told her that he had been evacuated to a field hospital, that he had all of his limbs, but that he has injuries in his left arm and back.

SoldiersPrayingMom requests all Freepers to pray for healing and complete recovery. Pray for his Mom and Dad, Ruth (SoldiersPrayingMom) and Jim Parkinson, Greg's wife, Tammy, and his two daughters who face uncertainties and fear for his condition. Greg and his family need all of your prayers and support.

Almighty God, we come before You, grateful for Greg's life and faith and his service to our nation, and praising You for giving us such young men as this. Father, we humbly ask You to ease Greg's pain and heal his wounds. Embrace his family with Your peace and comfort as they await further word of his condition. Guide the medical professions who are treating him and steady their hands as they tend to his wounds.
