If God sends the Word, and the Word tells me that He is the Son of God and here to redeem the world, and then teaches me the way to be born again and performs many miracles to show me that through Him nothing is impossible including life after death, and He then dies Himself and rises from the dead in fulfillment of the scriptures, then I think I'll listen very carefully to the Word.

When the "proof" of faith is written words and not the Spirit of God, human authority will always be made primary.

It is Qutb's fusion of the existentialist notion of absolute commitment, and existentialist despair, with the (already corrupt) notion of martyrdom held by the Muslims (which permits death in battle, even in an agressive war to count as martyrdom, as well as deaths analogous to the Christian notion), that gave the intellectual basis for suicide bombings. At least in classical Islam, the jihadi had to get killed by an 'infidel' to count as a martyr. In Qutb's system (90% Mohammed, 10% Sartre) the absolute commitment of killing oneself to further jihad trumps the Koranic prohibition on suicide. Alas for Muslims and non-Muslims alike, his ideas gained acceptance.

The invisible God became visible in Christ. God became our savior in Christ. God became personified in Christ. God visited mankind and became one of us in Christ. Hence, the New Testament God of Love. New Testament monotheism.
The god of Islam is nothing like this. Their god is impassable, aloof, and remote from man, incapable of identification with humanity. Theirs is an unloving, barbaric, and capricious form of monotheism. Derived from Judaism, not Christianity. A fundamental difference.
Both Islam and Judaism are works religion, derived from their common form of monotheism. Whereas, Christian monotheism is based on love and grace.
