LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable’s Earl Ofari Hutchinson and Jasmyne Cannick have issued a public challenge to controversial radio hosts John Kobylt and Ken Chiampou of the John and Ken Show of AM 640 KFI (Los Angeles) to prove that they are not promoting racial double standards when it comes to the death penalty.
The John and Ken Show dedicated the hour of 5 p.m. as “Kill Tookie/Tookie Must Die Hour” for over a month. During this time, KFI purposely followed around Black community activists, religious and civil rights leaders who were in support of clemency for Williams, with the sole intention of using their comments out of context and verbally abusing them on air for the entertainment of their listeners. John and Ken publicly denied there were any racial motives in their playing up death for Williams. But they have given no public hint that they will establish a “Kill Clarence Ray Allen Hour.” Allen, an elderly white inmate, is scheduled to die January 17 at San Quentin prison.
Cannick and Hutchinson, ask “Can we expect to see John and Ken at San Quentin on January 16 broadcasting live again? While we strongly oppose the death penalty, the deafening silence of John and Ken on Allen strongly suggest their racial double standard for executions.”
Meanwhile, John and Ken have even hinted that they will launch a new campaign for the death penalty for black activist Mumia Abu Jamal, formerly sentenced to death in Pennsylvania.
Community activists and leaders will closely monitor KFI to see if John and Ken continue their one-sided shrill attacks on death opponents when the condemned inmate is white. That will tell much about whether John and Ken are truly equal opportunity death penalty advocates or shock jock race baiters.
My curious question. If they were to do this it would be OK, but white folks doing this and well it becomes a national debate.
Frankly the same folks on either side should be just as passionate over the execution of Allen as they were for Williams.
He is responsible for the murder's of 3 people. Seems cut and dry to me.

Well there's no major call for clemency for Allen.
I swear, when I first read the headline, I thought it said that black leaders were attacking KFC.
There were victims, he has been on death row a long time, there needs to be justice. Seems simple to me.
A Glenn County jury found him guilty of three counts of first-degree murder with special circumstances and one county of conspiracy to murder in the slayings of 27-year-old Bryon Schletzwitz, 17-year-old Josephine Rocha, and 18-year-old Douglas White. The three were killed for either testifying or agreeing to testifying against Allen in the case that put him in Folsom. There he was serving a life term for murdering 17-year-old Mary Sue Kitts in 1974 because she knew of his involvement in a burglary. Allen has been on San Quentin's Death Row for 23 years.
Anyone listening to John and Ken simply need to recall the bullhorn used during Scott Peterson's trial to know the "black leaders" are haven't a clue.

Hutchinson is a radical leftist and hates whitey, so who cares what he says or does.
He's responsible for the murder of 4 people. I see no reason for KFI to play up this case unless it becomes a big leftie cause like Tookie was. However, it won't.
Let's see how many Hollywood celebs come out for the white guy.
If Tookie had written a book about the dangers of joining liberal movements, would the Hollywood crowd have come to his rescue.?

These feeble protests might gain strength should Jessie "The Racial Pimp" Jackson and his minions show up at the gates of San Quentin to protest the execution of Clarence Ray Jones. As the saying goes, "no publicity or face time here folks, lets move on".
Did you ever tune into the daily cannibalizing of the white murders, David Westerfield and Scott Peterson? No?

Hold the Phone. The same people who were trying to stop Tookie ,a blackman, from being executed ,now want the John and Ken show to come out supporting the killing of a White man. Who are the racists here?
Besides that there are no celebrities trying to stop the Allen Execution. Its pretty much a sure thing. Mike Farrell doesnt care how many White men are executed. He is just interested in the press and the headlines from supporting black killers like Tookie and Mumia. I am surprised they dont want Tookie to lie in State at the Capitol like Rosa Parks. After all Tookie wrote a 300 copy bestseller . Rosa just rode in the front seat of a bus.
Ken & John just summorized their response to the Round Table press release..."Go pound salt!"
Somehow I don't see the publicity being the same, and if it is I expect the same reaction from John and Ken.
