Former President Clinton Visits Buffalo (and GOP gubernatorial candidate courts him)

Dec 14, 2005 - Clinton spoke at the Convention Center for nearly a half hour. About 600 local democrats gathered at the rally to hear what the former president had to say. After his speech, Clinton attended a Buffalo Sabers game with team owner, and Rochester businessman, Tom Golisano. Golisano is considering a run for the Governor's Office next year, and may be looking for the former president's support.

I saw Billy Jeff at the game, which is why I did a search for this story. Golisano was an Independent--and is somehow connected to the Reform Party--but he switched to the GOP after Pataki decide not to seek reelection. I know nothing more about him, other than he must be a liberal to be courting BJ.

I thought the GOP was fairly wasted in New York anyways. Almost as bad as New Jersey and California in fact.

Can't we set some standards in the GOP?

Believe me, Golisano is no Republican. His last campaign was run by a fellow named Steve Piegon who was a decent guy before he got hooked up with the Clintons back in the early 90's. Came home to Buffalo a changed man. Not for the good either. A real died-in-the-wool socialist/liberal. Golisano is real tight with Piegon. Forget about it Golisano. We are not fooled by labels.
