Lefties trashing Santorum on Amazon.com

Some of you may remember the review of Rick Santorum's book that I posted a couple weeks ago on this thread:
Give the Gift of Santorum this Christmas.
Well, some of the usual suspects on the left obviously stood up and took notice, too, and did what comes natural to them--they spam voted the good reviews out of the 'spotlight review' section and voted in two negative reviews, one of which is simply an exercise in name-calling.
Note that this is not an Amazon.com-inspired attempt at trashing Rick. It's a coordinated use of the Amazon.com "helpful" buttons by political ideologues who hate Santorum and conservatives in general to push the bad reviews up and the good ones down. The lefties do this all the time on books by conservatives on Amazon.com.
Well, turn-about is fair play after all. So if you have an Amazon.com account, let loose and bump the positive reviews with helpful votes. As for the negative reviews, you'll know what to do with them once you read them.

Any conservative posting on Amazon needs to be careful--they won't allow you anonymity if they don't like your review, even though they promise it. They'll out you--put your email out there by retrieving it from your merchandising file.
BTW--do they call him "religious right" and "fundie"--is there a theme or "talking point"?

As Santorum is vulverable and GOP control of the Senate depends on so few votes in battleground states...I expect him to be quite the target from the leftist internet underground even in places like Amazon. Look for him to be a target here on FR, too.

Done. I clicked No on all the negative reviews. I was prepared to leave alone any constructive criticism of the book, but there was none. Most had clearly never read the book as was obvious by the lack of detail or support for the bile they were spewing. Clearly the DU or some other DNC puppet organization hit that one hard.
I just cannot believe the venom on the left. It's as if they've lost their collective minds. There was little or nothing of any intellectual value said in those negative reviews. Most of it was just spewing and ugly personal attacks, not to mention standard leftist boilerplate about "exclusion" and wanting to keep women subservient. Zzzzzzzzzz.

People can write reviews and post them there, and Santorum's book certainly could use a few more decent reviews. But you can also just vote "yes" or "no" on the reviews already there, and they won't post your email address for doing that. You need to hit the "See More Reviews" buttons when you reach the end of each page.
I just went through the whole list (38 reviews) and voted yes or no depending on the review. But you have to watch out, because a few of them pretend to be conservative at the top and then pull out the rug. That means it might take five or ten minutes to do the vote. But it seems worth while.

Done! But for those of you who haven't freeped it yet, BE CAREFUL. Some of the reviews give lots of stars and even start out sounding positive but end up pretty nasty. Some are sarcastic, and one even borrows text from a positive review and replaces some text strategically. Read each one before you vote.

Not really. They're all over the place, though the word "bigot" features prominently. That's one of the first words they teach Neo-Coms when they first attain language skills.

He has been the target of a continuous stream of vituperation by three of four of the usual suspects here on FR...

Good point. You don't have to post a review. Just vote whether you think a review was helpful or not. After looking around a bit, one quickly sees which reviews the lefties have targetted for obscurity and which they want at the top.

That's EXACTLY the point. The reviewers didn't read the book. They just posted a lot of personal attacks on Santorum and the usual leftist rhetoric that they use to attack ALL who do not fall in line with their thinking. When they accuse conservatives of spewing "mindless hate" it is an exercise in transference.

Excellent. I think it is worthwhile.
I make it a point to review everything I read on Amazon.com. There definitely need to be more conservative voices on there.

I buy a lot of books from Amazon because their pricing is good, no sales tax and free shipping. But I get really fed up with them not weeding out reviews that are filled with venom and bile and clearly show the writer didn't bother to read the book, if they've ever read any book at all.

Agreed. That's why I vote 'em down and write my own thoughtful reviews. If enough of us did this, we could really expose the left for what they are: the modern-day Know Nothings.

Yup... And righties are trashing Santorum on the FreeRepublic.
I hate to say it, but I think Santorum cannot be saved at this point. PA GOPers need to find someone they can support, and fast.

No. You will find about 4 or 5 people on FR who trash Santorum for any and every reason. They are not "righties"--they are all Liberal-tarians. At least one of them is a well-known individual on an "Anti-Free Republic" site.

I hate to break it to you, but I don't think that's the case. Most of them trash Santorum because he supported the RINO, Specter. I'd like to think that they are all trolls, but since the polls have Santorum in the dog house, I don't think we can make that claim. Heck, it seems that there are as many Freepers supporting Casey as Santorum. For some unbelievable reason, they thing he's pro-life.
