A strawberry delivery driver was arrested by Border Patrol near Gov. Newsom’s Little Tokyo news conference, becoming “collateral damage.” Angel Minguela Palacios endured six weeks of harsh detention conditions, watching fellow detainees give up and self-deport. Over more than a month in detention, the 48-year-old father prayed he’d get back to his family. The lights never dimmed and Angel Minguela Palacios couldn’t sleep. He pulled what felt like a large sheet of aluminum foil over his head, but couldn’t adjust to lying on a concrete floor and using his tennis shoes as a pillow. He could smell unwashed bodies in...

The ugly video clip from a Dundee housing estate in which a schoolgirl brandished a knife and an axe soon went viral, with rabble rousers such as Elon Musk and Tommy Robinson pitching in to claim the man filming the exchange was a 'migrant'. Others lauded the girl as a 'Braveheart' figure, defending her homeland from a predatory alien, with comparisons quickly cited about the Asian grooming gang scandals of Rotherham and Rochdale. Now we can reveal the man being threatened is a family man who has been living in the UK for four years – and who was accompanied...

Things are not happy in Monterey County. The California county, which Kamala won by 63%, is considered a ‘sanctuary’ for illegal aliens by the Department of Homeland Security. But that sanctuary status was recently violated and local officials are outraged. So is the Solidarity Network: a pro-illegal alien group that ‘monitors’ immigration enforcement arrests. Monterey County Board of Supervisors Chair Chris Lopez responded by announcing that a maternal health walk was cancelled. “Monterey County deeply values the contributions of our immigrant workers and families that strengthen our local communities and economy,” Monterey County Supervisor Luis Alejo posted. The Monterey Solidarity...

Bernie Mac blended style, authority and a touch of self-aware bluster to make audiences laugh as well as connect with him. For Mac, who died Saturday at age 50, it was a winning mix, delivering him from a poor childhood to stardom as a standup comedian, in films including the casino heist caper "Ocean's Eleven" and his acclaimed sitcom "The Bernie Mac Show." Mac died Saturday morning of complications from pneumonia. "The world just got a little less funny," said "Oceans" co-star George Clooney.

Fresh air Sanders and wife look to break stereotypes with Oxygen reality show By Amy Amatangelo Sunday, April 13, 2008 - Deion Sanders had had enough. The football superstar was tired of the way African-Americans were being portrayed on reality television. So he pitched a show about his life to the Oxygen network. “Deion & Pilar: Prime Time Love” premieres Tuesday at 10:30 p.m. on Oxygen. “We’re doing this really to substantiate the claim that there are many African-American families that live properly and are not necessarily argumentative and in disarray and total chaos,” Sanders said in a recent conference...

Some of you may remember the review of Rick Santorum's book that I posted a couple weeks ago on this thread: Give the Gift of Santorum this Christmas. Well, some of the usual suspects on the left obviously stood up and took notice, too, and did what comes natural to them--they spam voted the good reviews out of the 'spotlight review' section and voted in two negative reviews, one of which is simply an exercise in name-calling. Note that this is not an Amazon.com-inspired attempt at trashing Rick. It's a coordinated use of the Amazon.com "helpful" buttons by political ideologues...

With my wife away this weekend I found myself watching some films I hadn't seen in awhile, and this brought me to "The Family Man" with Nicolas Cage and Tea Leoni.....Keeping in mind that the Christmas Classic "It's A Wonderful Life" did about the same in the original box office, I thought I would take the opportunity to point out that, like Frank Capra's "perfect" film, "The Family Man" is going to become a perennial Christmas favorite as the years go by....This is another "perfect" little film that captures everything the Christmas season offers, and delivers it straight to the...
