Stanley Tookie Williams executed Crips gang co-founder put to death for 4 murders
Tuesday, December 13, 2005; Posted: 3:38 a.m. EST (08:38 GMT)
SAN QUENTIN, California (CNN) -- Convicted killer and Crips gang co-founder Stanley Tookie Williams was executed early Tuesday at the California state prison at San Quentin.
The execution went ahead as scheduled after the U.S. Supreme Court late Monday rejected a last-ditch appeal.
The high court's ruling followed California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's decision to deny clemency for Williams, 51, who received a lethal injection at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday (3:01 a.m. ET).

Tookied out...me too.
And I'm quite put-off by the celebratory attitude that some people here are taking. I don't think this is anything to celebrate like the coming of the New Year...

Did you hear that Tookie's girlfriend refused to attend his execution?
"Sorry, honey, but SOME of us have to get up in the morning."

R.I.P. Albert Owens, Yen-Yi Yang, Tsai-Shai Yang, Yee-Chen Lin.
I just wanted to repeat their names. The mainstream media avoid mentioning them as if they never existed. It is kind of Orwellian.

I am done with this murderer. The media needs to go on with things and stop giving a cold blooded killer free press.
How does a civilized people feel sorry for a man who killed four people for less than $300.
Jesse Jackson needs to get the hell out of Kalifornia and mind his own wife and mistress. He had the stupid audacity to go on TV and claim that he didn't know if this murderer was guilty. I got news for you Jesse, it isn't up to you and we don't give a damn what you think. A jury of good honest people found this animal guilty of cold blooded murder X4. Several judges have upheld this conviction and he got exactly what he deserved. We do not need you input or a single word of advice from you. Just get you nose off of my TV set and go away.

May God grant Tookie the salvation and peace that Jesus offers us all through His shed blood.
Justice has been properly served on a convicted murderer who was also likely responsible for hundreds if not thousands of maimed lives, bodies, and senseless deaths thanks to the violence of the Crips. This whole thing took two decades too long to get to this point.
I agree that something needs to be done with the Death Penalty. Either we engage in swift, speedy executions that occur after a thourough but accelerated appeals process or we get rid of the death penalty. This murderer lived an almost full life..able to create a new personna for himself that almost obliterated the fact that he killed 4 people in a very brutal, calloused way. We must have a speedy and fair trial by our constituion. We should also have a speedy and fair implemtation of sentences if a conviction occurs.
Enough of the liberalized circus sewage...

Though Williams deserved the death penalty, I take no pleasure in his death. Justice was carried out according to California law, and I'm content with that.
The only thing that bothered me about this whole ordeal was that it was beaten into the ground.

I'm just unsettled by some people here and their attitudes that seem to be excessively celebratory in my opinion.

The muted reaction to his impending, and now completed, execution illustrates again just how agenda-driven the MSM really are, not to mention racist.
I think they expected, or at least they certainly wanted, Los Angeles to go up in flames again (maybe they're jealous about France). In any case, the people who live there, you know the dumb blacks, at least as far as the MSM is concerned, maybe aren't so dumb (and manipulable) after all, and have shown everyone that they too are happy to see one of the key instigators in the destruction of their communities being shown true justice, regardless of what the liberals who claim to speak for them have to say.

Tookie has undergone a reformation now. He's standing before a different Judge that has the facts and political correctness is not a deciding factor. Did Tookie ever ask for forgiveness from God? I never saw any reference in the MSM about that. Bets are on that Tookie went a little further Southern than California.

Tookie iswas actually his given middle name.

The state requires that the execution be witnessed. The state witnesses are on one side of the chamber, William's witnesses are on the other.
According to reports some in William's contingent shouted, "The state of California has just executed an innocent man" as they were leaving the witness area.
According to reports, Mrs. Owens (victim's mother) broke down in tears after the incident. Mrs. Owens has publicly stated that she has respect for the position of the anti-death penalty advocates.
I've been very impressed with this woman, who to this day will not allow her state of residence to be public knowledge for fear of retaliation. (Threats have been made.)
Neither Owen's daughter nor any member of the Yang family will make any public statements for the same reason.

Just listening to the observer's here on UK news. Tookies supporters seem to have upset the victims family by announcing 'The state of California has just killed an innocent man'. How is that allowed? I just watched the official media witnesses give their statements on live TV. Prior to the execution, Williams' invited witnesses reportedly mouthed the words "We love you" and "God bless you" to Williams, and also gave "black power salutes" (in the media witness' words). It was as the witnesses were all filing out of the witness chamber (after death was announced) that the Williams supporters made their outburst, at which point the step-mother of victim Mr. Owens began to cry.
More of that patented "redemption" I suppose.
