May God grant Tookie the salvation and peace that Jesus offers us all through His shed blood.
Justice has been properly served on a convicted murderer who was also likely responsible for hundreds if not thousands of maimed lives, bodies, and senseless deaths thanks to the violence of the Crips. This whole thing took two decades too long to get to this point.
I agree that something needs to be done with the Death Penalty. Either we engage in swift, speedy executions that occur after a thourough but accelerated appeals process or we get rid of the death penalty. This murderer lived an almost full life..able to create a new personna for himself that almost obliterated the fact that he killed 4 people in a very brutal, calloused way. We must have a speedy and fair trial by our constituion. We should also have a speedy and fair implemtation of sentences if a conviction occurs.
Enough of the liberalized circus sewage...
I am in favor of abolishing lethal injection and going back to the long-drop gallows; I am also in favor of making the act of execution come sooner after conviction. Furthermore, the occasion should be ceremonious, if not public. This is a ritual of State, not a casual taking of life. You don't put killers to sleep like a sick cat. You TAKE their lives from them.
The issue is whether or not life is so precious that the State should punish the wanton, deliberate, taking of life. It is. It is not that the State holds life worthless to hang a murderer; it is that the State values it.
What's with all these "May God Grant Tookie Peace...etc..." stuff? I am pretty certain he is nowhere near God at this time (probably someplace condsiderably warmer)

You are right of course. However, although many conservatives agree with you, I have not actually furthered any specific proposals about how this could be achieved.
Thank you for putting into words what I wanted to convey. You are right, justice was served. The process is indeed very sobering.
