The ACLU of Northern California in San Francisco held a news conference at their offices in downtown San Francisco Monday, shortly after the governor's decision was announced.
Also present were members of Amnesty International and actor Mike Farrell, who is on the board of Death Penalty Focus.
"We are terribly disappointed with the governor," said Dorothy Ehrlich, executive director of ACLU of Northern California.
Magdaleno Rose-Avila of Amnesty International said his organization was shocked by the governor's decision and further "disgusted by his tone ..."
Farrell, perhaps best know for his TV roles in "MASH" and "Providence," lashed out at Schwarzenegger.
"Governor Schwarzenegger has demonstrated he is another cowardly politician," Farrell said, adding the governor tortured Williams in the wait for clemency.
"The questions becomes: What does this act on his part tell us about himself? That he is a creature of politics."
That he has the guts to see a just sentence carried out in spite of the likes of farrell.
"Mike says its ok for the state to take a life only if its Terri Schiavo..."
To Amnasty, ACLU, leftist gollywogs Farrell and Asner, and communist Belafonte, et al: Take notice.
If you stand for a bogus cause and whine because you lose it, you define yourselves as fools. Tookie was a ill-served up cause celebre. There are more righteous causes and better people to champion. Aren't you glorifying yourselves in self-defeating activism?
Has Mike Farrell even worked since MASH was ended in the 70's?
Harry Morgan and Wayne Rogers were the only people I liked on the show. Movie sucked, and so did the tv show.
Oh yes Mike, Arnold should announce his decision 2 days in advance to your brothers time to organize riots...
I used to watch MASH.... Want to bet the show's distributor is cringing at Farrell's spectacle?
"Does Tookie have the possibility to donate organs?
Perhaps not, as drugs enter his veins and organs."
They could pop out his eyeballs for corneas I suppose.
But who would want to look through those corneas which have caused so much misery?
BTW, when can I catch the next Mike Farrell movie or TV show? It's been a few years since I spotted him but I'm sure he's relevant as an actor (LOL).
Hey Hollywood: if you wouldn't welcome this guy into your own house, why on earth would you plead to let him back out on the streets?
And he's not going to vote for him ever again!
I bet Farrell can't even tell you the names of those 4 that died by Tookie.
He's speaking about Mike Farrell perhaps? The guy in the pic is not Farrell.
Ask him.
Mike Who? Should I listen to what this fool has to say?
Correct. And Linville just died a year or so ago.
I just thought his comments were appropriate.
Mike, go do a water ballet with a great white.
There may be some cowards in the mix, but it ain't Arnold.
Mike Farrell wouldn't know how to defend himself nor his family under any circumstances. Not even with an egg spatula.
