1. It should be hard for our government to put a man to death.

Exhibit A. A clear-cut case of multiple counts of brutal execution-style murder with a shotgun at point blank range, with victims slowly dying, and the murderer mocks the noise they make, laughing at their deaths.
Exhibit B. 27 years later, this low-life cretin of a murderer is FINALLY due to have his capital punishment carried out.

I'd say it is pretty damn hard for the government to put a man to death.

2. It should be a sad day that we had to put a man to death, not a time to celebrate.

It is sad that we had to put a man to death, but the families of his victims have endured 27 years of sad days waiting to see justice carried out.

But it is you who is setting the conditions of immediacy. Why do you get to set those conditions? To support your position? The state sets conditions for which cases qualify for the death penalty. Those aren't as valid as yours? That is 40 million people dedicing on conditions. You are just one person determing the conditions under which you think it is okay. Again, you have the right to take a life under your terms and conditions, but you deny the same right to the state. Pardon me, but it doesn't seem logical. You want to have more power over life and death than the state, but you are not constrained by a judge, jury, and endless appeals. Don't you seem to have too much power?

Chick Norris is a good guy but if Arnold does wimp out a recall will not be enough. Between the Governator and Jesse "The Idiot" Ventura we clearly need a constitutional amendment barring anyone who appeared in the movie Predator from holding any public office.

I live in L.A. and I don't think there will be riots ... for a number of reasons.

In spit of the fact that some seem to be hoping they occur, it wont happen.

"My friend, my ethics are not biblically-based. If you'll note my tagline, you'll see that I am an atheist. I don't use any scripture to justify my personal beliefs and ethics."

Well, I am sad to say that you will be spending an eternity in ETERNAL HELL-FIRE!!! Ok, just joking. Seriously, why are you an atheist rather than an agnostic? Since it is impossible to scientifically prove the non-existence of a god it seems to me that agnosticism is the most rational position.

It clearly reads as a contract that has been broken by the crown. The colonies didn't actually want to challenge the British government and were actively seeking reconciliation. When all attempts failed--and they knew they were already living outside of governmental authority--they asserted their right to self-rule as an alternative to no governmental representation

Beside the point. If one is to read Romans 13 as the poster apparently did, the Framers had no recourse but to accept the Crown's position, no matter how unjust that position was.

"So, what should the punishment be for a human deciding when another human will die? Like Tookie did with 4 people when he murdered them. What's the penalty?
"

You're asking me what I think? Life imprisonment with no possibility of release. But that's just me. Apparently others feel differently, in enough numbers to make the death penalty part of California law.

Some states have it. Some states don't.

In my opinion, it is wrong for the state to execute criminals.

A message to Arnold, indeed. Straight to the point. Clean and clear cut. A just sentence having been pronounced by more informed parties, and upheld repeatedly by courts at every level, the Governor stands aside, as well he should.

No clemency.

But let's get on with the introductions, shall we?

Tookie, God.

God, Tookie.

Oh, and Tookie, I think you're already familiar with this gentleman, here.

Satan, how are you, today? Nice suit! What's the occasion? Ha-ha-ha! Just joking; we all know why we're here.

Now, Tookie, if you'd just step to your right -- God's left... Yes, that's it; just stand right there. Now, God has some things to say.

"Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels..."

I have not heard of any ... if anyone it would be the police.

If there were riots they are not going to be around my office overlooking the Pacific Ocean. They'd be in South Central.
