Gov. Shwarzeneggar expected to make announcement on Tookie Williams Execution Clemency shortly according to Fox News.
:-)
I don't think I would have been very good as a fiddle-playing citizen farmer, so I'm happy that instead we have Federalism based upon Hamiltonian economic principles.
That's what made America what we are today. Jeffersonian principles would have made us into one big Guatemala.
This thread is reminding of threads waiting for a Bill Clinton speech.
Sounds like we agree.
Yes......(1976 4001 Maple Glo Rickenbacker, and 1985 Fire Red Les Paul Custom AND I have a moble DJ biz)...
I like Arnold and will go out on a limb for him here by putting myself in the "Arnie lets Tookie have the needle" column.
"I don't understand. He dies at your hand before he does physical harm. "
So let me get this straight. If someone breaks into your house and points a gun at your child, you are all for blowing them away. However, if the guy pulls the trigger before you do and kills your child. Then death for the perp is now out of the question?!?
I'm sorry, but if I were one of the victim's relatives, not only would I be in favor of this guy being put to death, I would be begging them to let me take HIS shotgun he used in the murders and turn his head into a soup-bowl!!
watch out musicman, doug's got some lyrics
Why is Arnold going on TV to make his own announcement instead of handling it the Barber way? This more visible announcement dramatizes Tookie's legal fate.
I hope that Arnold makes that phone call to the death chamber at the last minute......and tells Tookie that he just saved himself alot of money on his car insurance by switching to......
Thanks for posting it that way, Doug - I have someone here at work I'm going to try it on at my next break.
If anyone has pics of Tookies victims, this thread would be a good place to post them imo.
Fair enough -- I meant no offense. I'm a member of the 'religious right', too, but just because I think something is morally wrong (lying, profanity, etc.) doesn't mean I think the government ought to prohibit it.
If he was convicted of murder in Texas he would have been dead 10 years ago.
I have to tell you that after the last few years I'm more inclined to hope that we DON'T have anything to discuss.
"If I am wrong and there is no God, and I am but a fool for following him, what have I lost?
"
Well, there you go. If that is your reason for belief, then it is not a true belief. I could ask you another question: There are many religions among human societies. Each has its own deity or deities. Each believes that their deity or deities are the true one.
You believe in a particular deity. What if you are wrong, and it is one of the other deities that is the true one? Your question to me is the same as my question to you.
I do not believe in any deities, so I believe in one fewer than you do, apparently. I cannot believe in supernatural entities. If I could, I probably would, like most folks do, but I cannot.
So, what if the Hindus are right, and there are dozens of deities, and you are the one who is wrong?
I don't think remorse should weigh in on the issue. Too easy to fake. To easy to show while your are under threat of death.
If they commit a murder, hang 'em.
Arnold's propositions did not pass this last election.
What did these Tookie lovers do? Now they want his help?
Maybe, just maybe Arnold's feeling a bit bad about that right now?
