American soldiers are worth a lot more than Iraqi *hit".

Yeah that's real special especially coming from someone that doesn't give a $h!t about American Soldiers unless it provides a talking point to bash the Administration with. The left only wants the troops home so they can spit on them. Again.

Because WMD's were not the only reason he decided to take down Saddam. There were lots of other reasons. The media and the dems made WMD's the ONLY reason...wrong of them (again)

Bush is giving the politically correct answer but damn just once I'd like to hear him state that there WERE connections between Saddam and Al-Queda. Then list them.

This is a great mystery and one I'd love to have answered. I do NOT get it.

Now they say that Bush is sticking "doggedly" to a specified timetable regardless of how things are really going. Schummer complained last week that the Iraqi people were being "forced" into this election against their will, and that we should have made them throw out their constitution and start again to "really" bring the nation together.

This Sunday that Washington Post had a front-page news story about how Bush is being stubborn in keeping with this plan of milestones, and used the word "doggedly".

There's not a soul in the entire world that can honestly say Iraq did NOT have WMDs.

Mo1 - I walked in the house late. Where was this press conference held and who was the audience?

what was his remark about Specter..

He used a 4 syllable word (peroration, I think), and then said he included it for Sen. Specter.

No, I think you are misunderstanding the President's remarks. The fact is that WMD were not the only reason that was stated to go to war against Iraq, Bush was advised at the time to simplify the reasoning and that WMD was simplest most direct route to approval. It was never stated as the only reason to go to war.

Sounds like you would also consider the constitutional reconstruction of Japan and Germany after WW II would be irrelevant to Iraq today. After all, both of those "occurred in another part of the world in another century."

Are you really that foolish?

Wow, this speech just reminds me why he deserves to be POTUS. Even though we all doubt(ed) his capabilities at one time or another, he quickly reminds us how in control he can be. I think this is a definate turning point for the low polling numbers. I'm betting we'll be seeing a lot more vocal support for Iraq, too.

Speaking of polling numbers, did anyone see the slanted poll about how Iraqi's are favoring a US withdrawl by over 60%? I'm betting that its not a true poll, but when I went back to find the story and look at the data, it seems to have disappeared. Has anyone else done more research on this?

No doubt about it. President Bush brought his "A" game to Philly. Great job, very inspiring.

Why all the debate on the WMD's if their existence didn't matter?

It was the enemy within that made it about WMD when it suited them, Fish. The President might say, "It was the terrorism, stupid."

I heartily agree don't misunderstand, but won't the Dems go after him for saying that? Why all the debate on the WMD's if their existence didn't matter?

The dems will go after him not matter what

And ... if anyone listened to his speeches BEFORE the war .. WMD was not the ONLY reason we took Saddam out

The libs like Chrissy Matthews just like to tell everyone it was the only reason

My take on it was, that he was justified, with or without WMD's -that they weren't the be all and end all of the decision (as opponents would like the world to believe)
