Sunday, December 11th, 2005
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright; Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa.; Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Zalmay Khalilzad, the U.S. ambassador to Iraq; Sen. Joseph Biden, D-Del.; Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Khalilzad; Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz.
I want Graham to be pulled, the ad must stay.
Well he got a Bronze Star and 2 Purple Hearts. The Bronze Star is commendable, but they were rather plentiful in Vietnam. This is by no means any attempt to denigrate any person who received this honor.
I read somewhere (maybe Ann Coulter column) that Murthat refuses to release the paperwork where he was awarded the 2 Purple Hearts.
It's just amazing to me how the MSM wants to talk about this war "hero" when Sam Johnson, representativ from Texas, former POW and the "real deal" is ignored. Of course, Mr. Johnson's views are the direct opposite of Mr. Murthas'. If you wish to see what a real hero is and was, read up on Mr Johnson.
Oh come now. He just wants to make sure he'll keep getting invited to appear on the Sunday shows.
You missed one. "Lying Moral Coward" fits him very well. Knowingly speaking falsehoods to justify running away from evil is pretty much the whole reason Murtha is on every Sunday. His moral cowarance resonates well with the Cursader Cowardace of the average Dinasour Media talking head.
I heard that Murtha is to give the Dem rebuttal after the President's speech tomorrow
Good plan.
Graham says that calling the president a liar, when everyone else in the world thought Saddam had WMD, is wrong.
Albright: It's important to understand what was done with intelligence.
Nice strategy. /sarcasm
Albright: "There's not one Democrat that wants us to fail in Iraq."
Lindsay Graham, no surprise, wants the GOP ad pulled. He did call out the Democrats for saying that the President lied while everybody else in the world -- Clinton admin included -- just got it wrong.
"You left out, "Under investigation for contracts going to relatives..."
That's a good one! Is any news org. doing an investigation?
I can't stand Frist...
Who's bright idea at the DNC was it to put Albright on MTP today?!
MTP
Graham says the RNC should pull that white flag ad.
Albright: There is not one Democrat who wants us to fail in Iraq. [Apparently, she hasn't been listening to their speeches and positions.]
Graham: It goes both ways, Madam Secretary. Calling the President a liar, etc., doesn't help anything.
Albright does the dipsy-doddle and changes the subject that the policy in Iraq needs to change.
Albright: I said Hussein has WMD, but I never thought he'd use them (doh!). We kept him in a box. I would have kept our focus on Afghanistan (not Iraq). [Good thing she wasn't FDR's Sec or we would have declared war on Japan but not Germany, since Germany didn't attack Pearl Harbor.]
For the Dims, a "war hero" is just a convenient tool, someone with medals they can hide behind when they want to make anti-war and treasonous statements. Notice in "peacetime" they have no use for war heroes at all. (Clinton the draft-dodger was just fine, and who cared about Bob Dole's medals when he was running, etc.)
Ah the old keep the tyrant in a box. Britain and France tried that with Hitler in the 1930's.
Well .. I will say he is a better Majority Laeder then Lott was
At least Frist didn't share power with the Dems
With that all said .. We need a much better leader in the Senate
Russert: In 1998 the Iraqi Liberation Act was signed by Clinton and it called for removing Saddam Hussein. President Clinton said that Saddam threatened the security of the world.
Albright: We put Saddam in a box; he wasn't an imminent threat. The war was an unnecessary choice and badly planned.
Russert: If you knew today what you know now, would you vote for war in Iraq.
Albright: I'd have kept the focus on Afghanistan. There was no connection between AQ and Iraq. (This is where
the administration falls short, not reminding people about the connections WELL BEFORE the war).
Russert: Graham cited direct evidence that Iraq supported AQ who planned 9/11 and was an imminent threat.
Graham: I was wrong.
Some day our Republican Congressmen are going to educate themselves about the relationship between Saddam and AQ; the MSM wrote frequently about the relationship in the 90's.
Russert: Was there a linkage between 9/11 and Saddam?
Graham: That seems to have fallen apart.
I don't believe he is... But Frist sure looks uneasy to say the LEAST!
I am well familiar with the details of this case, he's clean, but it's like having to deny that you "beat your wife"....
Chris Wallace is awesome, he gives no quarter...
He needled Frist real good.
I like Frist a lot! But nobody can say that Wallace soft-balled him.
But that was a great segment.
MTP
BARF BAG ALERT!
Graham: I was wrong (in thinking those aluminum tubes could only be used for nuclear purposes). I can say I was wrong if something good comes out of it. [Graham has a Dr. Phil moment on MTP.] We need MORE troops now.
