Graham says that calling the president a liar, when everyone else in the world thought Saddam had WMD, is wrong.
Albright: It's important to understand what was done with intelligence.
Russert: In 1998 the Iraqi Liberation Act was signed by Clinton and it called for removing Saddam Hussein. President Clinton said that Saddam threatened the security of the world.
Albright: We put Saddam in a box; he wasn't an imminent threat. The war was an unnecessary choice and badly planned.
Russert: If you knew today what you know now, would you vote for war in Iraq.
Albright: I'd have kept the focus on Afghanistan. There was no connection between AQ and Iraq. (This is where
the administration falls short, not reminding people about the connections WELL BEFORE the war).
Russert: Graham cited direct evidence that Iraq supported AQ who planned 9/11 and was an imminent threat.
Graham: I was wrong.
Some day our Republican Congressmen are going to educate themselves about the relationship between Saddam and AQ; the MSM wrote frequently about the relationship in the 90's.
Russert: Was there a linkage between 9/11 and Saddam?
Graham: That seems to have fallen apart.
What, may I ask, was done with hers?
