Today, Senator Daniel Inouye, the Ranking Member of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee and a recipient of the Medal of Honor for his service in World War II, released the following statement:

"As a Veteran of World War II, I know what it’s like to fight a war and put your life on the line every day. I also know what it takes to win a war, and I know that politics and an attack machine like the President’s plays no part in it.

"The Republican Party’s latest ad is a shameful and disgusting attempt to distract the American people from the problems in Iraq. It may improve the President’s political fortunes, but the American people and our troops will pay the price. I hope that President Bush realizes how shameful it is to play politics when what we really need is leadership, and that he will direct his Party to take down this ad immediately."

It's now an attack machine to broadcast the Democrats own words?

Yes, it is; according to a Kerry spokesman, repeating the Democrats own words is a "filthy, slimey lie."

I believe the ad is just demonstrating what a careful, thoughtful plan the Demofacists have...

Retreat and save the money to put into the democratic caucus.

Exactly..anyone remember..."Bush lied, kids died??"
What's wrong with highlighting what the DNC chair and high profile Dems say? They are condemned with their own words...so either they need to apologize for their own words or defend them!

16 MILLION served in WWII.

Most of them did not and will not use their service record as an excuse to deflect critiscim of those who undermine a younger generation of soldiers.

What is shameful?

CALL FDR A LIAR DURING WWII.

SAY OUR TROOPS TERRORIZE WOMEN AND CHILDREN.

SAY OUR TROOPS ARE THE PROBLEM.

SAY OUR TROOPS CAN NOT WIN.

Medal of Honor?

Act like it.

Democrats whining about the war comprises 95 percent of the ad's content. The Democrats think it is unfair and cruel to have their own words broadcast so that everyone can hear them.

"I know that politics and an attack machine like the President’s plays no part in it"... With all due respect Senator are YOU saying that YOU agree with Howard Dean, Barbara Boxer, and John Kerry? If you agree with them then say so. Don't hide behind your bloody shirt and endorse one set of political activities while condemning the response.

If you don't like being a Democrat....resign.

The ad is not the problem. You are the problem.

We won't tolerate your treason.

The Democrats think it is unfair and cruel to have their own words broadcast so that everyone can hear them.

That's correct. The ad is just broadcasting the three Democrat's own speach. It's more than fair. It's accurate. The white flag is the editorial from the GOP.

Inouye is a hypocrite. For some reason, the idiot thinks Bush and the GOP should not be allowed to fire back at the 'RATS.

The dems antics ar e so rediculous that I cannot help but think that it is staged to create an artificial controversy.

Why? Do we need to have a "threat" expressed that our troops may be removed in order to spur on the Iraqi's to take ovedr their own country? Are they dragging their feet because they feel no sense of urgancy?

If I were really suspeicious, I would say this whole controversy has been staged to put the fear of abandonment into the Iraqi heads.

On the Other hand, the dems are stupid, so never mind...

This sick scumbag Inouye and his party are the ones who have politicized the war and endangered the troops with all their anti-American rhetoric. Screw them. Show the ad twenty times during the Super Bowl.
