Today, Senator Daniel Inouye, the Ranking Member of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee and a recipient of the Medal of Honor for his service in World War II, released the following statement:

"As a Veteran of World War II, I know what it’s like to fight a war and put your life on the line every day. I also know what it takes to win a war, and I know that politics and an attack machine like the President’s plays no part in it.

"The Republican Party’s latest ad is a shameful and disgusting attempt to distract the American people from the problems in Iraq. It may improve the President’s political fortunes, but the American people and our troops will pay the price. I hope that President Bush realizes how shameful it is to play politics when what we really need is leadership, and that he will direct his Party to take down this ad immediately."

Where has this dim wit been for the last year or so when his own party has been orchestrating a smear campaign against the President and our war effort?

Gee, I didn't realize that President Bush also makes and distributes ads. When did he start that business? RATs are so transparent and Inoway is one of the worst.

"He believes that the socialist "mainstream" newsrooms are the biggest enemy that decent, civilized, traditional America has to face."

It's so true. The MSM is arrayed against Americans and America. They see themselves as an elite class of people. They think they are better than we are.

That is one fantastic ad. They can't take it. So they bleat like sheep and run to their media mouthpieces. Inouye is an old communist anyway. Who cares about him?

Sic em.

It would be a violation of campaign finance laws for Bush to tell the RNC how to spend their money.

Not that Senator Inouye or any other Demo(n)cRAT consider themselves to be constrained by the law.

If Americans were as badlt informed as he Dems think, we'd be saying 'President Kerry' right now.

If the Dems try to use their sock-puppets in the MSM to attack the pubs over this it will backfire because the exposure of the ad will skyrocket, and everyone will see the Dems convicted of treason out of their own mouths.

Er, Senator Inouye, it has been YOUR party, the Democrats, who have been politicizing the war, just like they politicize everything. Get YOUR people to behave decently, and we can ALL get to the business of stabilizing Iraq and defending our country against the Islamists. Thanks.

Here is what the Senator from Hawaii should have said,

"The Republican Party’s latest ad is
 ...USING OUR OWN WORDS...

a shameful and disgusting attempt to
 ...USE OUR OWN WORDS...

distract the American people from
 ...OUR OWN WORDS...

I hope that President Bush realizes how shameful it is to
 ...USE OUR OWN WORDS..."

...and I call upon Senator Inouye to put down the cheese, take off the beret, and step away from the French Battle Flag.

I visited the Senator's site and sent him a message basically like what you wrote.

To paraphrase what I wrote to the dem: Isn't it enough that my son is about to be deployed to fight terrorists? Now he has to fight democrats at home! Tell the RNC and President Bush to pull the ad, Never. I'm begging them for more. Much more.

The Republican Party’s latest ad is a shameful and disgusting...

In other words, it's effective.

So an ad quoting Democrats is an uncalled for "attack machine", but calling our soldiers terrorists is not? This guy can take a hike, veteran or not, he's a liar.

Has everyone in this country turned into a drama queen? Answering the dems using their own words is shameful and disgusting? If only we had real reporters who would ask the most basic question of the senator: What, specifically, is shameful and disgusting in this ad? Please quote.

Apparently it is okay to lie if you are a veteran - that's the message. If someone points it out, it's not attacking someone for lying, but it is "attacking a veteran."

Let's see now. Kerry says our troops are terrorizing Iraqis. Durbin says they are like Soviet Gulags and Nazis. Dean says the war is unwinnable. Kennedy says it was a plot made up in Crawford Texas. Rather broadcast forged documents to show Bush incompetent. Sheehan says Bush murdered her son. On and on and on from the DemocRATS, yet I never heard a peep out of Inouye.

Only now when the heat is on these turncoat DemocRATS, does he lean on his WW2 herosim to speak out against Bush.

Funny thing is, Bush isn't the head of the Republican party, like Dean is head of the DemocRATS.
