Calling Missouri and Illinois FReepers:
The Fred Phelps gang is planning to protest the Saturday funeral of Staff Sgt. Gary Harper n Virden, Illinois.
Virden is about 80 miles northeast of St. Louis and slightly southwest of Springfield, IL.
I'm looking for more information. Ping me if you're interested in going over to support the family and freedom.
(I know some of you live too far away, but maybe you have friends or relatives who might be interested.)
Call Springfield Harley Davidson. They will know how to notify HOG (Harley Owners Group). I guarantee you that they will show up to give these little pieces of crap (Fred Phelps and his gang) a bad time. Do not physically assault this bunch. That is how they make their living. They have lawyers with cameras present at all their demonstrations. You can call em things like in-breds though. They can't sue you for telling the truth.
Freddy the freak is out again. For those who do not know fred phelps is a big al gore supporter.
Gotta find the local veterans Motorcycle club. There's a BIG group of them somewhere -- they did a ride to the new Vietnam Vets memorial in Springfield IIRC. I will look in a few minutes!!

Did my best to notify American Legion riders in the area.
Also emailed the VFW
Hey Jinxie -- did you get the official "how to behave" email about this? If so, can you post it here??
I found the Springfield HOG website and sent an email, but haven't received a reply yet. If/when I do, I'll post the information.
Thanks to all who are helping organize this!
and he is Protesting at a FUNERAL?
Yes. A picture in today's St. Louis Post-Dispatch shows a woman from Phelps' church holding a sign at a previous military funeral; the sign reads, "Thank God for Dead soldiers"
Take out the guys with cameras first.
KIDDING!
Careful some of the guys with cameras might be good guys!!!
Hook up with some of these folks. God bless you.

I'm clear across the state of Missouri so can't be there.

For those of you unfamiliar with this slime, just google Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas. Or..... go to their own website www.godhatesfags.com
These people are Baptist in name only. The national Baptist council (or whatever you call it) has completely disavowed any connection with this sick group.
Oh yea. Happened to one of our young heroes right here in Rapid City. Not the first visit for Mr Phelps either. I didn't hear about the funeral protest here until after it was over. Apparently the city made sure he and his were not able to be seen or heard by the family or friends of the soldier.
