John Kerry Blames Rush Limbaugh for Iraq Blooper

Failed presidential candidate John Kerry blamed top conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh Friday morning for the uproar over his claim that U.S. troops were terrorizing Iraqi women and children.

"You know, the only people who are trying to make anything out of that, to be honest with you, are Rush Limbaugh and a few people on the right," Kerry told radio host Don Imus.

On Sunday Kerry told CBS's "Face the Nation" that there was "no reason ... that young American soldiers need to be going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women, breaking sort of the customs of the - of - the historical customs, religious customs - Iraqis should be doing that."

Asked if he meant to say that American soldiers were guilty of terrorism, Kerry claimed: "Obviously not."

What he meant to say, he insisted, was: "After three years, Iraqis ought to be capable of searching a home ... It's inexplicable that when the biggest killers in Iraq are suicide bombers and IEDs, improvised explosive devices, that we're still on the front lines going into homes and going out in the dead of night. And it scares people."

The one-time top Democrat said that he'd like to see U.S. troops redeployed "in a way that accomplishes the goal but does it without needlessly putting troops at risk and incurring greater difficulties in feeding the insurgency."

Citing a year-old Washington Post report that claimed Iraqis resented home searches by U.S. troops, Kerry said his "terrorizing" comment was meant to be constructive.

"That resentment hurts our soldiers," he told Imus. "I'm trying to help our soldiers. We all are."

Kerry is trying to stay in the news with his usual flip-flops and "nuanced" comments.

I'm so sick of this fool. It reminds me of Al Gore after the 2000 election. It took a while for Gore to realize that his 15 minutes were over.

That makes about as much sense as anything else Kerry has said.

"Whenever, I hear anybody say "to be honest with you", I know what follows will be less than honest."

I once had an acquaintance who was a true pathological lier.
He was constantly starting topics with "To be honest...",
or, "I kid you not".

You can never hide who you really are. Kerry's lingo is the lingo of old for him. Only good part of show was Bernie telling Kerry to go back to his fat, two-legged, ATM machine. ROFLYAO, or what?

You and I probably can't imagine what satisfaction the SBVT feel when they see this castrated blowhard trying to inch his way back across to the DMZ.

What a moron! I hope Rush puts more wind in the sail of his recent same-old, same-old floater.

What a terrible memory for Elian to have, of his last time with his relatives. Absolute crime for this to have happened.

jf'nk must have some type of medical problem(hyper-active arrogance gland?) to think people will buy his incoherent statements. And in this age of the internet, these utterances will be recognized and exposed. The msm can't gloss over everything as well as they used to.

Kerry's entire appearance on IPUS this morning was something to behold. He contradicted himself, sometimes in mid sentence.

The man is incoherent on just about every topic.

The GOP should pull a page out of the dims handbook and every time kerry or dean or anyone else makes a stupid statement, the GOP ought to spend a week demanding an apology to our troops, the American people or whoever.

And this complete moron was the presidential candidate of his party. While having no affection for liberals, I desperately wish they could get people of substance to represent them. They are a sorry lot.

“These men speak for themselves and not necessarily the patriotic mainstream of the Democrat party,” said one unnamed Democrat Senator.

You mean he doesn't want to be named as part of the patriotic mainstream of the Democrat party? I mean, really! These people are made of absolutely nothing!

Good thread. Just heard some of the interview where Kerry lied through his teeth about how they were misled about the pre-war intelligence. He used the strably false talking point about the 16 words in the State of the Union speech, which have been proven true over and over again. Then he blathered about Cheney's "misleading" comments about links between Al Queda and Iraq, saying well, I don't know if Cheney knew that those statements were false when he made them but I know that if he knew then I would have known that I should have known to vote against the Iraq War before I knew that I should have known to vote for it. Or something like that.

Of course Imus was at his butt-kissing, obsequious, fawning self, acting like he was asking the tough questions and then letting Kerry answer with these palpable lies.

It's always someone else's fault.

Let me get this straight. It is ok for kerry to make ridiculous statements, it's just not ok for them to be replayed on the radio?

y the way, has he signed the SF-180 yet?

I believe he signed it, but his lawyers have been reviewing it for the last six months, so he still hasn't turned it in.
