If they don't bring hunting back to keep the herd in NJ under control, then endemic disease will start to take down the population.
Me? I'm hoping for hunting. I love deer-meat chili!

Humans have an enormous impact on ecosystems.
In many cases, we make wildlife populations absolutely explode. The Indians never had as many deer as we do today.

Pick up a rifle? How irresponsible. We'll just pass a law against the excess deer population, and I'm sure they'll all turn themselves in to the authorities to be taken care of.

Other humans don't qualify as North American Mammals?
Anyways, if we don't cull the deer population big time, back to what it was 150 years ago, you can say goodbye to our forest edge and eventually most of our forests.

Meanwhile, some towns are paying big bucks, I think the smaller ones are just as much of a problem.

More Americans are killed by deer each year than by any other large American mammal... Actually, I would dare say that more Americans are killed each year by humans than by deer.

The best definition of deer:
RATS ON HOOVES
Been saying it for years, now the yuppies are losing their shrubs and stuff, now they "get it".

A complication is that the deer are in suburban neighborhoods and not in areas where firearms might be used (even shotguns).
Will we see a surge in bowhunting?
