It looks like the pendulum is starting to pick up velocity. Bush picked the right man for chief justice!

The media and college liberals will scream like stuck pigs over this. I hope they're so ticked-off that they can't even see straight.

I think a school should be able to ban military recruiting. I think if they choose to duck their civic duty they shouldn't be eligable for any federal money whatsoever.

To: SmoothTalker
That was CJ Roberts' take. He said that the schools could avoid the whole matter by refusing to accept the Federal funds.

I think the president picked the right man too. But I don't expect that we will agree with all of his decisions.

Take away the money and see how fast they will come around.

This case is a waste of the SCOTUS time and effort.

I have a special interest in this case, because I ghost-wrote a brief that was filed in the case. (Since I resigned from the Bar of the Supreme Court in disgust a year ago, I had to write my brief and turn it over to another lawyer for final tweaking and filing.) My brief urged the Court to reject summarily the arguments of Yale Law School and others, and tell them to either allow the recruiters on campus, or forgo the federal dollars.
Or, in simple terms, these arrogant b*stards have no right to take the federal dollars and then thumb their noses at the Congress which provided the money.

Liberals are the greediest people I've ever met. Once the SC decides on the part of the Military, these Universities will give up their "principles" and go for the money.

But I don't expect that we will agree with all of his decisions.I agree. Heck, I don't even agree with Scalia all the time. Although, I do agree with Thomas in 100% of the cases I have followed.

I heard a quote from Roberts on the radio.
Its simplicity was perfect:

"If you dont like it, you dont have to take the money"

To: An Old Man
Roberts statement reminded me of Calvin Coolidge when he was being urged to forgive the loans made to Great Britain during WWI:
"Well they hired the money didn't they?"

To: An Old Man
My preferred solution: cut off the money; recruit only at patriotic schools.

 HA! HA!
