FNC's Brian Kilmeade posts an update on the moonbat death wish received by wounded soldier Joshua Sparling at Walter Reed. Brian has a list of other wounded troops who could use some Christmas cheer and support:
Capt. James Ollinger
Sgt. Zavian Simspon
Specialist Brian Radke
Specialist Jason Braase
Sgt. David Nevins
Sgt. Jose Ramos
Cpl. Todd Bishop

Sgt. Eva Diane Cochran

"...began in response to a need on Ward 57 at Walter Reed Army Medical Hospital in D.C. Injured soldiers are coming back from the Iraq war requiring extensive medical care to recover from their orthopedic injuries. The only clothing they have to wear over the splints and specialized "fixators" is a hospital gown. These gowns left our brave soldiers with less than adequate clothing to wear as they recovered from their injuries. Our mission is to design, create, and deliver specialized clothes for these brave soldiers..."

Already done. I sent Christmas cards with "get well wishes" to all on this list - I hope they get THOUSANDS of cards!! ShootingUSA has this on its site, too.
Here locally I gave this info to our local VFW and American Legion. They are planning to "get on it" right away.
"GETTING ON THIS TONIGHT" Ping!

Great find! KAC, here is a ping on some projects to notify your VRWKC list
Thanks KAC. I'll take a look.
Thank you so much for the ping!
BTTT
Patriotism was in the air Americans breathed during WWII.
Ping!
I believe someone is working on getting names of Sailors and Marines at Bethesda who would also appreciate some cards. I forget who it was, or I'd ping them to this new thread.
Cards are ready to go out tomorrow; just informed hubby, who is a former Marine of 2 tours of Vietnam, that we might spend the day with the troops at Walter Reed, will call them and find out what we have to do...or maybe we might go before Christmas to visit with them....
God Bless 'em....and God Bless America....
What a great idea.
Sewing is too time and labor-intensive for me, and I don't knit.
However, there is a great project that anyone can do if they can cut and tie knots.
Take about 2 yds of two different patterns or solids of fleece fabric. Cut 3 inch cuts into both layers of fleece all around. Tie each cut together to form a fringe. The result is a beautiful, warm fringed blanket. Send or take to your local VA medical center, Walter Reed or Bethesda Naval Hospital.
An easy, inexpensive way to send warm wishes for Christmas and the New Year. Kids can get involved as well.
