                           A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

With the holiday season in full swing and Christmas fast approaching, I asked a Few of Our Finest to set some of their finest Christmas tables to present throughout these next few weeks. Each one has chosen her own theme, and no one else has seen it. Today our featured guest artists are deadhead and tuliptree76.
I hope you enjoy and appreciate their beautiful Christmas offerings as much as I do. It's always rewarding when we have our Finest' contributions, but never moreso than during the Christmas holidays.
                      Thank you, Colleen and Tulip!

              Ornament Wreaths

Every year, I make one or two ornament wreaths as gifts. They are very easy to make, even for those of us who arent very crafty! The following is how to make an ornament wreath.
You will need: (1) A circular wreath form (Large or small) (2) Ball Christmas ornaments (glass, plastic, or satin all sizes and colors) (3) A glue gun and hot glue

Dab a little glue on the wreath form where you would like to place an ornament, and then attach the ornament to the form. Make sure the metal or plastic loop on the ornament faces in towards the form so that it doesn't show when the wreath is finished. Keep adding glue and ornaments until you cover the front and sides of the wreath form. Don't put any ornaments on the back of the form so that it can easily hang on a wall.
I like to put the larger ornaments as a base around the form and use the smaller ornaments to fill in the gaps between the larger ornaments. I also like to start at the back of the wreath and move to the front, but there is no set way on arranging the ornaments. After you cover the form, you can add bows or other decorations if you like. Also, add a wire or string to the back so you can hang it.
Hint: Add the string or wire to the wreath form before you add the ornaments. It will make tying the string easier.

And now you have a beautiful wreath for you or someone else to enjoy!
                Merry Christmas! |

That one is pretty. There are many ways that the wreaths can be modified with bows and other decorations.

       Choose Your Alliances Carefully

The Star Alliance is an affiliation of airlines that seeks to maximize passenger benefits. If you're traveling on a member airline, you can accumulate frequent-flyer miles after transferring flights and enjoy faster check-in. The Alliance's Web site calls it "a more civilized way to fly the world."
But not all alliances are mutually beneficial. In 2 Chronicles, we read that Ahab, the wicked king of Israel, formed an alliance with Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, when they joined armies against Syria. Why did Jehoshaphat establish this foolish bond with Ahab?
No reasons are given, but we know why Ahab encouraged Jehoshaphat to put on his kingly robes while Ahab disguised himself for the battle. He knew the Syrians would try to kill the king. The opposing army surrounded Jehoshaphat. He cried to the Lord for help and God diverted the troops. Despite Ahab's treacherous scheme to save his own skin, he was killed by a stray arrow.
Although Jehoshaphat escaped, Jehu the prophet confronted him, saying: "Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord?" (2 Chronicles 19:2).
Helping people in need is godly. But making unwise alliances with those who hate God may prove disastrous.
Be sure to choose your alliances carefully. Albert Lee

It is good to join hands with the righteous,
 Helping others you meet on your path;
But to make an alliance with evil
Will incur God's displeasure and wrath. Hess
Right and wrong can never be partners.

What a wonderful treat to come here & find this treasure! thanks to you three ladies for the lovely work. Beautifully done tables & great content.
Right now I can't stay. VERY cold here. I could not work the space heaters downstairs w/o blowing circuits. trying to get heating man, who also can get us plumbing back hopefully going to get a fireplace fire going for a bit to take off the edge in house of cold. Mom's room is still tolerable although not what she likes

Biggest concern now for me is Toby's foot. Got a chance to look & it is major cut all across (and deep) on the tow pad in front. I have let Oliver's smaller toe pad cuts heal naturally but this is larger & deeper. my vet is unfortunately NOT close. Will need to prolly make a heat or vet decision. and the vet will win.
