Yesterday evening the President and his wife along with the Vice President and his wife attended a Gala at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts prior to the gala a reception for those honoured at this gala was held at the White House.
The annual children's holiday reception and performance was held in the East Room of the White House today, the President and the first lady attended the performance.
Today the President visited John Deere-Hitachi factory in NC and gave a speech on the economy and Tax Relief he also talked about pensions and social security
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice read a prepared statement to reporters before flying to Europe, she arrived in Germany this evening.
Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld gave a speech on 'The Future of Iraq' at John Hopkins, Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Washington and also met Philippine Secretary of the National Defense Avelino Cruz at the Pentagon

When I was dating my husband, my high school students (mostly just the girls) thought he looked like Robert Redford (in his Sundance Kid days then).
I didn't argue with them. :) But he definitely doesn't have skinny legs, and is a conservative rock, so I guess I did better than whoever ended up with Redford, eh?
Usually it's on TV a week or more after the event occurs. I would guess that would be the case this year too.
Sounds like fun will that be at her home? Most children in the UK seem to have parties at MacDonald's or Pizza Hut etc.

Hmmm, maybe our husbands are cousins ~LOL~ When Redford made The Way We Were he looked so much like my husband, right down to the moles on his cheeks, but when I saw him up close my husband is 6' and Redford was only about 5'6 -- if that and not nearly as handsome in person as on the big screen. Also, like your's my husband is a definite conservative!
I don't have the details yet. I suspect it'll be at home though. I already know what I'm getting her: an "Anne of Green Gables" DVD, and a Christian worship CD. She loves Anne.
Sounds like lovely presents I am sure she will enjoy them.

BTW, did you see the Reuters close up of Condi with Redford? He looks terrible.... at least could have combed his hair! I don't think her dress was her most complimentary, either.

He's six feet also, and has/had what you might have called a 'strapping' build. I think it's funny that Redford's a skinny little 5'6" guy. Maybe he's suffering from short guy syndrome and that's what makes him a loony leftist. :)
