[history]
This story was reported on Fox and Friends this morning.
Joshua Sparling just got to Walter Reed last week and received ONE letter from someone writing in a child's printing. Among other things it told him to die. The soldier has the card on the wall of his room. I know FReepers can counter this despicable action with some of our own letters.
Joshua Sparling
Walter Reed Army Medical Center
6900 Georgia Avenue N.W.
Washington, D.C. 20307-5001
Update: Since Joshua will undoubtedly be overwhelmed by America's response, please consider sending (instead of or in addition to Joshua) cards to these find troops:
Excerpt from Brian K. at FNC:
If you have the time, please try and include the others I met along with Col. North and Col. Hunt at Walter Reed:
Capt. James Ollinger
Sgt. Zavian Simspon
Specialist Brian Radke
Specialist Jason Braase
Sgt. David Nevins
Sgt. Jose Ramos
Cpl. Todd Bishop
Sgt. Ryan Donnelly
Sgt. Eva Diane Cochran

It looks like we may get a snow day tomorrow. I'm right in the path for the worst of it. I have two new box full of Christmas cards and will see all of them get a card tomorrow.

Thanks very much! We've got a covering on the ground right now - may get up to 6-8 inches here in NoVa.

Hey, Coop...I didn't see the exact wording on the card, but is it possible a kid meant to write something like "I hope you don't die"? We've all been guilty of accidentally leaving out a small word that causes big changes in meaning.

It would be nice to think it was just an erroneous omission, but at the bottom of the letter it says, "P.S.: DIE!" Somebody seriously needs a boot up their @ss.

I wish that was the case, but the sicko who wrote the letter (I doubt it was really a kid) wrote "I hope you have a good time dieing (sic) in the war" and ended the letter with "P.S. DIE."
Here's the letter:

If there were any doubt, it was removed by the P.S., which simply read "DIE."
