Don't you trust brain MRI. Once I had been given it, and then several days later I got a call from the doctor's office. The receptionist said [verbatim] "Good news. You have nothing there". This much I could have told them beforehand...

This is encouraging. If the barriers to examination of the painfully obvious continue to crumble, perhaps researchers will discover there are slight differences between the brains of normal people and those who are hopelessly stupid.
I gotta get me one of these grants.

I would have thought we were only two or three times as smart as women.

The brain is an incredible organic computer.
There is something of the divine in DNA. 25,000 genes to make one human being.
To communicate amongst ourselves we have 290,000+ words in English. Those words are combinations of the 26 letters of our alphabet.
DNA has only 4 such letters (components) in its alphabet, and the genes are combinations of just those four components. It is self correcting, self regulating, and self replicating.
They say the devil is in the details, but when you really look close - you should be able to see the hand of God.
I'm not saying you have to believe that we were created in one day out of seven, or that God called us into being as we were. I'm just pointing out the marvel that exists within us all. I'm just pointing out that if there is no God, then nature does one hell of a good imitation.

Why do men, for example, refuse to ask for directions while women are busy peering at maps and landmarks during the same automobile journey?
This is such a cheap pun on men. Truth is, on long trip dates, women never help when driving (some even claim they cannot read maps, empowered in passive aggressivness but have a right to be blind and stupid), and if they do, you have to buy them flowers or something, like it were unexpected.

After analyzing magnetic resonance imaging (MRIs) of 23 men and 10 women, the team found that the sexes use different areas of the brain even when working on exactly the same task. ,,, more than twice as many men than women for the purpose of this research. What does that say? How long will it take for transgenders to crave inclusion in this research? It's going to happen.

There's some reassuring common ground, though. A study of almost 700 adults released yesterday by Cornell University found that men and women are happier with each other, rather than alone. And the stronger the relationship's commitment, the greater the happiness and sense of well-being of the partners, the analysis found. "Being married is associated with higher self-esteem, greater life satisfaction, greater happiness and less distress, whereas people who are not in stable romantic relationships tend to report lower self-esteem, less life satisfaction, less happiness and more distress," sociologist Claire Kamp Dushsaid yesterday.
The study makes another major blow to the Feminist. Men and women need each other.
On the other hand a great deal of money was spent to prove obvious facts.

This story strongly suggests functional MRI to assess differences in processing between male and female brains.
Again using MRIs, he found that men have more than six times the amount of gray matter -- which controls information processing -- in their brains as women do. But females have 10 times the amount of white matter, which controls networking abilities.
Wasn't that apparent before functional MRI?

If this study bears fruit, it may provide munition for the arguement of people being born gay. That is, if it can be proved that gay men have the same physiological traits within their brains that match those of women.
Otherwise, homosexuality can go back to being categorized for the mental illness it is and always has been.

I don't know what planet this author is from, but the one I live on, called Earth, women rarely look at maps - that's precisely why they always want to ask directions, whereas men say "We have a map, what the hell do we need to ask directions for?"

Some stark new clinical evidenceWe have known about sexual dimorphic structures in the brain for YEARS AND YEARS. The stria terminalis is differently wired in men and women. But no, this rehash of old facts is both stark and new, apparently.
