A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Ready or not, the holiday season is upon us again! This past weekend began the busiest time of the year for most of us - from Thanksgiving through New Year's Day. About this time three years ago - our first Christmas at the Finest - we asked for help from our readers in guest-writing a holiday thread, and your response warmed our hearts; you were such a big help to us, and got us through a very busy time with fun, interesting, and unique holiday threads. We appreciate you and couldn't do it without your support!
As I did last year, I'm posting the links to all our previous Holiday Threads - from 2002 , 2003, and 2004. Hope you enjoy them - you may even see yourself there!

Yes, it is a very festive thread to start off the Christmas season. I loved looking back at some of the older Christmas threads. How time flies!

Yes, time sure does fly! I love this time of the year, such a peaceful feeling. Was out a little while ago, saw some beautiful houses all lit up for the Christmas season. Love the decorations, love picking out my Christmas tree and decorating it :-)

I love to look at other people's decorations, but I don't do them anymore. I have some stuffed santas and snowmen that I put up in the living room, but that's it. Working in retail has done a job on my Christmas spirit....though seeing this beautiful thread almost makes it come back.

I put lights on my house and on my trees and bushes in the front of the yard. I've been thinking about putting a wreath on the door and putting electric candles on all the window sills. My Mom use to do this, I always loved how it looked... simple, yet elegant.
I had animated deer with lights on them, they freaked my pup, Lucy out...so I gave them away. They looked real LOL

Will do :-) Nothing extravagant, but sure...I will take a pic and post it. Might put the lights up this weekend, depending on the weather.

It would just be fun to see what you've done...and anyone else who does lots of outdoor decorations, too. It could be like a mini-drive around the neighborhood of the Finest!

Hi there!
The washing machine quit spinning today..I am getting good hand exercises trying to wring the water out of blankets! Everything works but spin..I could sure use an old fashioned wringer right now..I see a new washing machine purchase coming as soon as possible!
Don't worry about last minute...I think anything that works is fine..and sometimes I am very last minute.

"It could be like a mini-drive around the neighborhood of the Finest!" Wonderful idea, LUV W! It is that! I'm going to start decorating tomorrow - it gets me really in the Christmas mood once I fill the house with Christmas stuff. May share some pics of mine - hey, at least the new wreath for the front door. :)

The more the merrier! You could make a whole thread about everyone's decorations! I'll bet a lot of the Finest has beautiful lights and wreaths and mechanized displays! How fun....and we could serve hot chocolate!
